Thanks every one, I will update my list, you may have noticed on the song for Gaynor thread - I have changed a few words in the song so it is from more than one person singing it (instead of I, it is we). Hope this makes sense. Here is the song we will be singing

When you're down and troubled And you need some loving care And nothing, nothing is going right Close your eyes and think of us And soon we will be there To brighten up even your darkest night You just call out our names And you know wherever we are We'll come running to see you again Winter, spring, summer or fall All you got to do is call And we'll be there You've got friends If the sky above you Should turn dark and full of clouds And that old north wind should begin to blow Keep you head together And call our names out loud Soon we'll be knocking upon your door You just call out our names And you know wherever we are We'll come running to see you again Winter, spring, summer or fall All you got to do is call And we'll be there, yes we will Ain't it good to know that you've got friends When people can be so cold They'll hurt you, and then desert you They'll take your soul if you let them But don't you let them You just call out our names And you know wherever we are We'll come running to see you again Winter, spring, summer or fall All you got to do is call And we'll be there Yes we will You've got friends You've got friends Ain't it good to know you've got friends You've got friends You've got friends You've got friends

Lovely idea, but... Don't want to be a wet blanket, but... if you really want to do this you need to go away and research the practical aspect of it.. a) contact the charity to let them know what you plan - they maybe be able to advise on the rest... b) get the rights to record the song - it'll be copyrighted (I know Carol King sung it (and, I think, James Taylor and a previous charity release by Wet Wet Wet), but not sure if she wrote it or not) c) find a record company that will distribute it for you d) arrange for a recording studio (good luck in getting one free !) e) a million other things... Good luck !!! Practical Paul

I have emailed bbc, itv, record agents and record labels, I am hoping one of the many companies I have emailed will be able to help, and sort out the red tape for us too. We will have to wait and see. Does any one have any other ideas of people to contact that could help?

Paul (Tigger)

Paul (Tigger) Report 8 Feb 2005 18:01

Hi Joanne, Publicity, is the key word here, I think!!! what about Radio stations, Sky TV. local rags, can you imagine the publicity 'Genes' would get over this. people would be falling over themselves to help us lol. as they would get lots of publicity (that word again) as every one love a good cause, and OURS is EXTRA SPECIAL. don't you all agree?...Lilly

Paul (Tigger)

Paul (Tigger) Report 8 Feb 2005 18:04

Jo

Jo Report 8 Feb 2005 18:13

I agree Lilly, we need to start some where, i have now contacted all major record producers, labels and agents (am hoping that because of the cause some one out there may find it in their hearts to sort for us). If any one has more ideas please see what you can do, am doing what I can from here, the more people plugging it the better. if we keep going we will hopefully get a breakthrough.
