I looked at two pairs, the goretex ones and a pair of very lightweight brown leather (ish?) ones. The chap on JL seemed to think the Berghaus ones were better suited for all weather and gave better ankle support, so I went on his advice (I think they look nicer too !). They do the same boots in Millets, in a range of colours lol |

Daisy, I spent £80 on some gortex Berghaus (sp?) boots from John Lewis last week, have walked a few miles in them over the weekend, and they're brilliant :) NB, got proper trekking socks from Millets too, £9.99 a pair !!! |

my 'training' consists of weekend walks, which hopefully will start becoming more regular. Managed a six and a half mile one yesterday and that went fine. If you are going walking out in the country, I seriously recommend getting these trekking stick thingys...think of ski sticks and hopefully you'll know what I mean. They start to come into their own when you've got uphill terrain, take some of the pressure off the legs. |

Well so far i have been doing an hour a day walking, except for the weekend :-( , and i spent the morning in a gym week before last, but i am hoping to get back to the gym at least twice a week on top of my walking, time allowing. I will have to get my boots sorted this week, then the walking will be more beneficial. As for Sister Rebeccas form of exercise.....sounds much more fun than walking, lol Yvette |
