This one big time if its played anywhere and I here it I have to leave Don’t Cry Daddy Today I stumbled from my bed With thunder crashing in my head My pillow still wet From last night tears And as I think of giving up A voice inside my coffee-cup Kept crying but And ringing in my ears Don’t cry daddy Daddy, please don’t cry Daddy, you’ve still got me and little tommy Together we’ll find a brand new mommy Daddy, daddy, please laugh again Daddy ride us on your back again Oh, daddy, please don’t cry Why are children always first To feel the pain and hurt the worst It’s true, but somehow It just don’t seem right ’cause ev’ry time I cry I know It hurts my little children so I wonder will it be the same tonight Don’t cry daddy Daddy, please don’t cry Daddy, you’ve still got me and little tommy Together we’ll find a brand new mommy Daddy, daddy, please laugh again Daddy ride us on your back again Oh, daddy, please don’t cry Oh, daddy, please don’t cry Paul

Glad someone mentioned 'Drive' - I still can't hear it without hearing the scream of that poor child in the Live Aid video! 'The Living Years' makes me laugh and cry! Years ago, when it came out, the singer was on GMTV sitting next to Rolf Harris. They played the video then cut back to the sofa where Rolf was bubbling like a baby, absolutely bereft cos it reminded him of his Dad. Cut to 2004, me and my best friend are in the car when the song comes on the radio. I start telling her the Rolf story and we both end up sobbing like babies! We've both lost a parent so it meant so much more to us. One of those lovely 'best friend moments' when you're laughing and crying at the same time! Sal

I think you have it right there David. Even though these soungs make us cry we always stop what we are doing to listen to them. Another one is You'll never Walk alone. My Mum used to sing that to me when there was a thunder storm. Germaine x
