I think they should be left alone, and not constantly criticised. They love each other, and have the blessing of William and harry. Its been said they are fond of their stepmother. If its good enough for them, then its good enough for me. To say that Charles should abdicate because Edward did, is ridiculous. For heavens sake, things were different in 1936 !... its seventy years on. Having a child out of wedlock or a single woman having s*x was inappropriate then but is acceptable (and rightly so) now. (I personally don't like the C of E , they refused to marry me and hubby because he was divorced...despite the marriage ending was down to his ex) If the church is unhappy to marry 2 people, why do they perform a blessing for the same couple ?..to me that is the church giving their blessing. It contradicts itself to suit. If it was Diana who cheated on Charles, and Charles was the 'victim', would anyone object to his marriage to Camilla? No, they would be happy for them. Camilla may be the wrong side of 50, but seeing her on her wedding day, with love in her eyes for Charles, they deserve to be happy. As for those who say they wont forgive a pair of complete strangers, I feel sorry for any close family member of yours who does something you disapprove of. Elaine x |

It always amazes me that people can have such deep and often vitriolic feelings for people in the public eye who they don`t know but who they percieve to be everything that in the papers say they are .I assume these people need to get a life.Has anyone read the Royalty Boards there are half a dozen posters on there who should be warned as their posts and beyond fair comment? |

I have read through this thread and am amazed how strong feelings still run. I for one couldn't give a toss whether C loves C, or William hates C or Harry loves C or any combination of the above. As you've most probably guessed I would be delighted if the Monarchy was disbanded or whatever it is you do with an archaic institution. Jean x. |

LOL Give over Pat I bet you are stunning;) Lesley - I think you're wrong about the people. Speaking for myself, I've forgiven Charles for how he treated Diana and Diana for how she treated Charles cos all of it was totally irrelevant to my life. They were both human and I presume both made mistakes. I'm not fussed if Camilla is called Queen, Princess, Duchess or Alfred - it's not going to make a huge difference to me and I assume she'll be on stamps and coins just the same lol |

For what its worth I would like to add my bit. I hope Charles and Camilla are very happy together. Diana was no angel, only liked the media when it suited her, and who knows what went on behind closed doors. Diana has gone, let her rest in peace and let Charles and Camilla get on with their lives, life goes on. Sue |

I get upset with people calling Cherie Blair names because of her looks and what really gets me upset is more Women do the criticising than men :-( I have no time for the Royal Family as Royality goes but as fellow human beings I wish Camilla and Charles happiness as I do Harry and William too. Looks are only skin deep pleasing to the eyes that's it. I would rather compassion and intelligence any day. Pat x |

I agree with you Sheila. I wonder if Diana would have been so idolised if she'd had a face like a smacked arse. I take it all those who are criticising Camilla's looks are complete stunners? |

What does it matter what they look like for God's sake? Did any of us choose, or were chosen, by our partners purely because of looks? If they are a happy couple (and they seem to be) isn't that the most important thing? Seems that Diana is on a pedestal for a lot of people (some media too) and will always be a young, beautiful woman - a very sad death, yes, but life goes on. |

I have been imagining the conversation between George W. and Charles. They are both so bad at small talk. I hope he does manage to find something to talk about other than global warming and Islam as has been suggested. I imagine the atmosphere will be a bit frosty. |

Roxanne, you state you would like 'Charles and Camlle' to become King and Queen. If it were of a remote Island in the 'North Atlantic' I might well agree with you,However if its this Country,I hope we become a Republic first. Have a nice Day. Hal.Ps.Just remember the way he treated another of his 'Ladies' Kanga, that shows the character of him . |

I believe he should give the crown up. He carried on with Camilla before and after the marriage, he should have been strong enough not to marry Diana. Strangely enough I was recording some tapes onto dvd the other day, among them a programme about Diana after her death, she was supposedly 'in love' with Charles from being a little girl, he was her prince in shining armour. I believe that adoration was played on to supply his heirs. Not a very good role model the future King of England, especially as he will become head of the church of england. We are all entitled to our opinions. I don't believe he should succeed and she should definately NOT become Queen. But thats my opinion. |

I think Charles and Camilla were unable to marry when they were younger because Camilla was not a virgin (or so I read a while ago). A male heir to the throne had to marry a virgin to guarantee the parentage of the future heirs. The rules have now changed for William. But, whatever the whys and wherefores of the situation, I simply cannot understand why people get so worked up about it all. I have enough to worry about without getting het up about the lives and loves of the House of Windsor. Liz |
