When you have a look on CHAT. LOOK for Jan the quiet one with the message BACK ON FOLKS. Then click on her name with that message. Sue

Joy it's not difficult. looks at the posts by jan. two of them have a different membership number, and now shows that persons name as Linda

Joy, If you look at the messages posted on chat at 22:08:46 and 22:15:12 they are from member number 3721729 and not from our Jan. This member's name appears to be Linda. Rick.

OMG Any idea why anyone would do that? some very strange people on genes. I hope you get satisfaction from the abuse team Jan that is awful. Pat x

Joy - you're welcome :-) It's not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last for as long as Genes allow you to change your name at will without some audit trail of who actually posted what and when. Silly names are fun (says the former Secret Squirrel lol) but it can't be that difficult to devise a way of stopping one member impersonating another. Rick.

'the clown' is now showing in my contacts as Linda Butler

I have just sent them a message asking why they have chosen to upset GR members by using someone elses i.d. and also said Genes team will be notified. I asked for them to apologise to you Jan as I think it is a terrible thing someone has done. No one would have been any wiser only for the membership number. i think another reason why Genes should make it less easy to change names so often without visible membership numbers. I hope you don't mind me contacting them Jan but they are probably reading this so know we know what they are up to. I cannot believe some of the goings on, again I hope genes get it sorted and quick. Pat x

Well I don't really know you to speak to Jan, but I have seen lots of good banter & fun involving you & Rick never ever have I seen you being rude nasty or aggressive to anyone. Jan, I PM'd the person and the name that showed in my sent mail was Linda Edwardson. BUT in my 'your contacts' she shows as Linda Butler. Paul x
