Scuse me Marion honey but if Robin has dumped you, after all you went through for him.....then me thinketh you need to take solace where you can honey X

A question was asked of me.............. I wish we could changeth the story............ I would layeth down my life for my liege lord, do anything to save his life...... but another could never captureth my heart. If I be spurned by my liege lord, so be it...... but I would not transfereth my affections to another.... :-)

Maid Marion, Little John, Robin Hood, The Sheriff I'm not sure that I agree with the assessment but it was interesting to think about. I did think hard about switching Robin and the Sheriff, though. Gwynne

Dan, Agreed. The Sheriff was doing his duty by locking up the 'criminals', but resorting to such nefarious tactics before he'd agree to release them was totally unacceptable in an age of supposed chivalry. BTW - 'Calm down, dear' ? You sound like Michael Winner on those awful E-sure ads! ;>))) Sheila, As to 'he only locked them up for one night', if Marion hadn't agreed to his request, they might never have been released. Did you never see 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves', girl? I might have a soft spot for Alan Rickman, but I prefer Kevin Costner any day. LOL Festive Flutterby >*|*<

The locking up wasn't the issue. It was the physical bribary that makes him so low.

Why is everyone so anti the Sheriff? I thought we were supposed to ditch our previous notions, lol! He was locking up 2 people who were rampaging all over his county, stealing things for goodness sake! I've seen plenty of comments on this board recently regarding the perceived failings of our criminal justice system.....he only held them for 1 night, not 90, and he let them go as promised! :-)))

CB. Calm down dear. Be happy you almost agree with me :-)

What a load of absolute RUBBISH!!! I chose Robin Hood because the poor guy got banged up and two-timed by the girl, Maid Marion second because she was doing what she thought was best but then left with the opportunist and deserted the guy she'd tried to save to get the best deal going, Little John third because he double-crossed his best mate and was probably telling Marion porkies anyway so she'd run off with him, and The Sheriff last because he was an out-and-out villain. For that my 'analysis' came out as - 'Your philosophy of life is a sad hotchpotch of the conventions of society, your own convictions and romanticism. You are not unkind, only staid and unimaginative. You resent the arrogance of men. This combination represents 4% of total, 4% of men and 3% of women' I'm not unkind (usually) and I certainly don't care for arrogant men, or arrogant women for that matter, but 'Staid'? 'Unimaginative'? ME??? Come on, pull the other one! LMHO Another example of loony boffins talking nonsense. Festive Flutterby >*|*<

That's just sexist!!! But don't you worry your pretty little head about it.

I reckon if a bloke ***Update SOME blokes***was in the same position as Marion (obviously the Sheriff would be a gal) He would do what Marion did - but not be honest about it!! ;o)) KK X

Apprently 4% males should agree with me! Come on!

There is a moral to this morality tale, and that's that all men are b**t**ds, or these three are anyway.. I'm an exception, I'm a good lad I am!! Paul

Unknown Report 18 Nov 2005 19:13

ok, here's my opinion for what it's worth.. It was hobson's choice for Marion, The Sherrif would probably have had his wicked way with her anyway ...so she might as well do it willingly and suffer less pain , and have her friends released into the bargain, than be brutally raped..She' was probably disgusted by the act and would hope that Robin would show some understanding of the dilemna she'd been in.......... It's a split decision on Little John, because if you know the story he had pledged allegience(?) to Robin after he was defeated by him in a staff fight. Perhaps he means well to Marion or he has his own interests at heart...As a true friend to them both he should've acted as an intermediary between Robin and Marion.. Robin is just being a chauvenistic, egotistical child..he's not happy because he didn't get to play the hero as per the script and had to be rescued by a mere damsel.. As for the Sherriff, he's just a *rick!! Paul

Unknown Report 18 Nov 2005 19:08

Poor Marion, should of let them keep him.....going for my dinner

Daniel

Daniel Report 18 Nov 2005 19:07

Well it's not so bad. Robin is standing by what he believes is right. He is not as bad a little John - opportunist, nor the Sherrif.

Unknown

Unknown Report 18 Nov 2005 19:06

But if it did happen...poor Marion goes through hell to save her man....and gets dumped! That is not fair

Unknown

Unknown Report 18 Nov 2005 19:05

It coulda been worse Marion! (Might have been Prince John!!) Heh Heh! (Although I quite like him) ;o)
