There are many “good” people in this world and we have all known some. It doesn’t mean that they have never erred. I think that “good” people see only good in others, and hey! “How many of us are capable of that?'

Hi Lynda, Please see below - when I quoted what Jesus said about hatred. He equated it to murder in terms of how evil it is. Yes, I know, murderers cause more harm to society than haters do. But God hates all sin. William

Hi Christine, I'm sure you are all these things - I've got many friends who could say exactly these things of themselves. And I can say all of the above too. But what is 'white' when you've done your washing? Would you be happy with a beautifully white sheet - with a (small) splodge of black ink in the middle? I think not. God doesn't like it either. As for Mother Theresa - undoubtedly another excellent human being. However, I suspect that she would have been the first to admit that she didn't come up to scratch with God's standards. We don't define 'good'. God does - and he's perfect. William

You didn't answer the first question - have you ever done (or said, or thought) wrong?

Lynda, Im sure you are all those, but you must of had a bad thought about someone at some time. Have you never hated a person? I know I have, I would not say I am 100% good,I still have a long way to go spiritually,I try but often I fail:-))

Well said William. People who do not beleive in god are so entitled to have that opinion. I would ask one question which shows up on this board almost daily. 'Please give positive thoughts .....etc.' I would ask who gives you the power to think positive thoughts . Maybe you think it isjust a saying and agree to think positive. The real answer lies in the result of this positive thinking. Do we really beleive that we as mere mortals can make some one well from a serious illness. If someone whom the doctors have done all they can but still remains close to death survives it cant be through positive thinking because i see names that do not beleive in a god Positive thinking is really saying a prayer. Who is the being that answers that prayer? God. Rupert
