Ooooohhh Ann.. come back....x..... you should know by now, my threads meander er like a bubbling brook [ there Joan... bit of poetry too !] No thread [well mine anyway] should be serious all the way through.... i spend all day at work being serious !!! wave at who you want, blow kisses... say hello ..... whatever... i dont care..... lol. By the way Ann.... this book is far too heavy for me to post to you when i have finished with it... the postage would be more than the cost of the book ! Phoenix.... have we met before ?? Or have you just changed names perhaps ?? Sue .... happily on 5 days holiday now... or have i already mentioned that, pmsl ! xxx

Yes, thank you, Ann. Very good, Brenda - you did it. Ooh, you're on gen. :-)

Phoenix

Phoenix Report 21 Mar 2006 23:03

I've got a copy of Ancestral Trails..... used mainly as a doorstop. I tried to read the chapter on civil registration and fell asleep. The chapter on merchant seamen seemed to be largely lifted straight from Chris & Michael Watts book. It's very old now, but Terrick Fitzhugh's book (Dictionary of Genealogy?) is much more heavily thumbed for the occasions when I'm not at the computer. (Trying, and probably failing, to pull this thread back to the subject of the title!)
