Let's pile in the stretch Limo, it's Saturday nite, My tinsel wig is waiting but the frock's a bit tight. Never mind decorum or the dishes in the sink Oh, let's dance around the 'andbags, Party on and have a drink.

Nice to read your lines Dorothy G. and a nice cold drink would go down well with me. Oh my son is sitting his exams-A2s I wouldn't like to be in his shoes! Pass the wine, it might make me feel better. He handed back one paper without writing a letter!! Quite what do you say. I managed a strangled 'oh' I don't think he realises he worries me so !!!!!

Camera waving Joy in Wales I do enjoy reading all your tales. Don't worry about cheating with the Zed. Its one of the worst letters on this thread Each of us has our favourite letter. After Zed it can only get better.

Take that tin and thump that fly, Barbara it has got to die. Unleash your anger with full throttle - nothing worse than a big blue-bottle. Verily, having just said that- in my room once there was a bat. Well p****d was I with the drama but son disappeared for his video camera- Xpecting me to wait - but cor!!. Yon pipestroll filled me with shock and awe. Ze windows were closed so from whence it came a mystery it will just remain. Although I've cheated with the Zed, and By no means my first offence, the tale is true, got the evidence.

Quite daunted by your knowledge I am. Soon you will find I am a sham. Recalled seeing a shag last year, sitting on a rock quite near. Saw him in a harbour mouth I think he was black and facing south.

Lee

Lee Report 25 May 2006 12:16

you wont find it in a tree, but on the sea shore he will be, that wily old shag is a cormorant you see.

My thinking is shot, there's a fly in the room Buzzing and buzzing Not lightening my gloom I have SPRAYED the wretched thing Oh I WISH it would give in hmmmm Perhaps I could hasten its end If I thump it with the tin?

Hello, good morning, one and all. popping in to pay a call. Isherwood is the name in my head- wish I could say I was more well read! Just googled him in, and I have to say, didn't know he inspired 'Caberet'. Knowing now, just that little bit more of Anglo/American literature, Like to say thanks Joy, Dorothy and Lee for sharing your knowledgeability.

Dorothy - Christopher Isherwood wrote the poem 'The common cormorant or shag Lays eggs inside a paper bag, The reason you will see no doubt It is to keep the lightning out. But what these unobservant birds Have never noticed is that herds Of wandering bears may come with buns And steal the bags to hold the crumbs.'

Zebras are a stripy bunch Eating grass for their lunch. And on that note I'll go away, And come back another day!
