Evening All, Thanks for the messages. Well there were two cats in the traps this morning when I got to work. Let one go & reset trap. Hour later cat in trap, I can't be certain but I think it was same one & another hour & another recapture. I gave up & just took the one, who turned out to be a boy. I think the crafty cat has worked out that it gets a nice dollop of food for just the little inconvenience of sitting tight till I let it out. This afternoon I caught a big kitten, not sure how big til vet looks at it tomorrow. There are three in the litter so I hope I can get the other two soon, as they will be small enough to gentle & rehome. The five tiny kittens already with Sam are doing very well & want to be with her all the time, crying if she goes away from them. Attitude has calmed a little but is not so keen on being handled as the other four. Hopefully Sam's son will work out why I haven't got the pics yet & we will see them soon. More news tomorrow. Vivienne xx

Thanks for your thoughts Liz. I'm going in this morning with fingers crossed that the traps have been sprung & not with re traps. I've already had that twice. I'll report back when I get home some time this afternoon. Vivienne xx

Hi Meercat, I've only been in about fifteen mins. Tried to catch three today but only got one. Caught the one quickly this morning but had to give up after hanging around for an hour hoping to get another two. Tried again this afternoon but again had to give up & leave the traps set for overnight. Another girl today so now that is six girls & two boys plus five kittens I don't know the sex of. Think about it, each of those six girls could have had five kittens at least, each, this year. Please people get your pets neutered. Sam said her son sent the pics on sunday but they haven't got to me, so they will try again. Vivienne xx

Hi Meercat, The kittens are too tiny to have the op at the moment but they will be done before they are re-homed. As we have got them so young they will be homed in households as any domestic bred cats would be. One of them has lots of attitude & keeps hissing at Sam but the others are quite happy to be stroked. I was going in this morning to try & catch the mother cat but when I called Sam she said not to bother. The kittens are fine, didn't cry for mum & are taking solids mixed with kitten milk. She thinks they are about five & a half weeks & she is going to try to send me a pic later today. If she does I'll put it on the Next Generation site. Vivienne xx

Hello Margaret I've only just seen you there, sorry I think I have a pm to answer too. I didn't think I would have anything to report untill monday but the boss called me to go with her to one of the rooms. She had seen a kitten peering over the front porch, so we went to have a look from above. We found the nest of one of the girls we had speyed on wednesday. She had five kittens, so with the help of a porter & the general manager, I climbed the ladder & caught all five. I tried for two hours, using the kittens, to get the mum into a trap but she wasn't having any, so I had to just take the kittens to Sam of the C.A.T. I'll try again tomorrow but at least if Sam has to hand rear them, they'll be well tame to go to good homes. Vivienne xx

Hi Vivienne, My goodness, you're really a Jack of All Trades! Good on you. You're doing a grand job. I remember my daughter being given a sort of wild cat (which had been born on a farm) as a birthday present once. We had 'it' wormed, but we sadly had to give it up to the Cat Shelter (as it's called over here) after 8 weeks because we could do NOTHING with 'it'. 'It' was SO WILD and was spitting, hissing and going for everyone. We live in a flat so the poor thing couldn't get out AND we had lot's of younger children coming in and out with my daughter at the time, and we couldn't risk being sued for damages! Poor little puss. All the best in your quest! Luv. Margaret

Hi Meercat & anyone else who's interested. I collected the two I took in yesterday. Both females & it looks like we may have more cats than we bargained for as one of them has milk, so kittens somewhere. We had only seen eleven so got vouchers for fifteen just in case but looks like we may have to re-apply. I didn't trap today, I'm going in a bit earlier (I hope) in the morning to trap then. Vivienne xx

Didn't think of it Meercat but maybe when they are all done & hopefully a bit calmer. They're much too skitish at the moment. Vivienne xx

Hi Diana, I released the first two this afternoon. They use disolvable (sp)stitches. It's a case of catch two release two at the moment but don't know if I'll be as lucky tomorrow. I had to spray my car with fabreeze, the Tom cat peed just before I picked them up & they are too wild to be able to change the paper. Think I'll have to get a peg for my nose!!!!!! lol Vivienne xx
