Just had a call from Sam, looks like she has a home for two of the babies. She will be doing a home check on thursday, a B&B that is in the shadow of Dunster Castle. There is also hope that she has found homes for a couple of the ferals as well. Vivienne xx

Hi Diana, cute aren't they. If you were in this area & were serious it might be possible after a home check but I don't know if C.A.T. have anyone in your area to do one. Vivienne xx

I understand your frustration Annamarie but it is not the cats fault. The answer is for all cat owners to be responsible & have their pets neutered. Females do not have to have a litter before being speyed. Neutered animals are not so smelly & they are much happier. You can buy a sonic device to put in your garden if they bother you that much. PLEASE come and put traps in my garden i will even pay u. The amount of cats that come into my garden and house is unbelieveble and they ALL have a home. Its against the law to allow DOGS to roam so why do cat owners allow cats to wander. The stray cats need putting down because its near on impossible to tame them. SORRY TO ALL CAT LOVERS

Just been to check the traps again, just one re-trap. Vivienne xx

I set the traps last night but nothing this morning, not even re-traps. The good news is that thanks to Steve(Durham Boffin) there are now pics of the tiny kittens I got from the hotel porch on the next generation site. Vivienne xx

Whoopee, I got another one this morning, was beginning to despair. Yet another girl, so that's ten girls now & the potential for many more kittens averted. No trapping over the w/end but hopefully more on monday. Vivienne xx

Hi Meercat, Diana & anyone else who is interested in the cats. There has been nothing to report this week, have had a couple of recaptures but although I know there are still some entire cats out there, they are being very illusive. Sam collected my two kittens today & she has just called to say they have settled into their pen very well & are calling out to the other cats in the house. My colleagues are not going to be happy with this. I'm not over the moon about it but if I don't have any luck by next week we have to stop feeding & only put food in the traps till we get the rest of them. Vivienne xx

Hi Diana, CPL in Taunton are lttle more than useless, that's why I am doing the trapping with help from The Cat Action Trust. The trouble is that Sam from the C.A.T has nineteen cats already & no spare pen. Have to make do for the moment. Thanks for your concern, it's nice to know people are interested in our 'little' problem. Vivienne xx

Have you contacted the CAT PROTECTION LEAGUE as they may be able to loan you a pen to keep them in!! xx

I'm not geared up to take in cats at all but the alternative was to let them go like the older ones & it seems a shame when there is a chance of gentling & rehoming them. I just hope Sam finds someone else soon. My incense sticks are being well used, phew they've both just used the litter tray. Vivienne xx

Hi Meercat, unfortunately I didn't get the litter mate, just another recapture. These two are going to be hard work to tame, they spit at me each time I get close. They will keep sitting in their litter tray & they are filthy. The fact that I don't have a proper pen, just a hospitalisation cage, doesn't help. They don't have enough room to play. They need to go to someone who is around most of the day. I work, officially, eight hours a day but sometimes longer & with travelling & cat catching I can be away from home for ten hours & they need more attention. Hopefully Sam will find someone else to take them soon. I'm going to try trapping in the garden tonight, to hopefully catch those that don't come into the garage where we feed them. Vivienne xx

Well I finally got the kittens cage cleaned out, changed where they are, to be nearer me, & fed & watered them. I know we always say on here we are mad but now I know I am. I've just been out & dug a washing up bowl of garden soil, so I'll have plenty to change the litter tray. They are going to take a bit of work to get them tame with me being at work all day. They are terrified everytime I move. The cat I took in yesterday was another girl, so that is now 9 girls & 3 boys. Unfortunately I didn't get the litter mate to these two, I hope it is all right. I've left a trap where we think they were born so fingers crossed for tomorrow. Vivienne xx

Caught another big kitten overnight & took it in this morning. Both are girls about 12 weeks old & guess what I have here with me! Sam of the C.A.T. has 19 cats at the moment & I do not want to lose the chance of gentling & rehoming these, so muggins volunteered. I'm hoping to get their litter mate tonight but in the meantime I got another big cat this afternoon that will be done in the morning. I don't have a digital camera or I would take a pic of these two. Mind you they are a bit scruffy & dirty at the moment. Nearly forgot to say, the vet nurse lent me a litter tray & a couple of bowls & gave me some kitten food for them. Wasn't that lovely of them. Vivienne xx
