The thread about getting cats neutered prompted me to bring this to a close now I'm no longer at the hotel. Sam,(Cat Action Trust) tells me she has found homes for several of the kittens & is hoping to retrap & home the adult ferals from the hotel soon. Vivienne xx

I woke this morning with the third migraine in three days. Good job Migraleve work for me. Took the five kittens to meet Sam at nine thirty this morning, nothing in the traps so came home & laid down for an hour. Then in between looking in here I cleaned out the pen, folded it & put it in the car to take back to the vet. Wish I hadn't !!!!!!!!!!! Whoopee, good job I checked the hotel before I took it back. The pen is back in my dining room with the two grey kittens from the garage loft. Reckon they are about 8 to 10 weeks. They are crying a bit at the moment but I hope they will soon settle. Hi Margaret, thank you for asking, the arm is much better but still get the occasional twinge. I knew there were a lot of cats but it is getting beyond a joke now. Thats thirteen kittens suitable for domestic homing so far & Sam is having problems finding homes for them all. Vivienne xx

Poor you Vivienne! You've certainly had your work set with all those cats. Hope you'll soon be at the end of your tether. Hows the arm now? Take care. Margaret

I was right! I grabbed two little black kittens in the garden today, can't see any white at all on these two. Looking from the top of the hotel I thought I saw a grey & white kitten in another part of the garden but couldn't find it when I went down. I've set the traps. I'm taking these five for Sam to collect tomorrow. I'll miss them but it will be so nice to not have to be cleaning all the time. How can three tiny kittens who live mostly in a pen four ft by three ft make so much dust, even I can't ignore it. lol Vivienne xx

Hi Folks, I'm beginning to wonder if we will ever get them all. I checked both traps when I got to work at 8 this morning, nothing. About 11:30 I went to get some air after a bit of a migraine & the trap in the garden was occupied with an entire. Luckily the vet agreed to take it right away & another tom cat is now back without his bits. That is now: 10 girls speyed 4 boys neutered 11 kittens rescued 2 kittens evading capture at the moment ----- 27 total I don't think that is all of them Vivienne xx

He, he, I've opened the pen to let the kittens come out & they are running round & round it like it is a race track. There is an old wardrobe mirror on it's side propped up by the wall & the posturing in front of it is soooooo funny. I'm going to miss them when they go. I got a call from Sam earlier & she was at the hotel dropping off some worm tablets & flea spray for me, when she heard some kittens crying in a hedge. We've looked in this hedge before & not found anything but somehow she managed to get the kittens out & instead of leaving the hospital cage for me she had to take it back home with kittens in it. How many more I wonder! Vivienne xx

Oh those kittens sound so sweet - wish I could have them but must wait till I am sorted out at home before having pets again. Miss them dreadfully. I once had a little black kitten find its way up two flights of stairs to my office on a busy city street. I rang the vet round the corner and asked around but no-one claimed it. I ended up taking it home in a box on the bus, but I already had two cats and lived in a flat. It was black with a little white bib so I called it Dandy. It was fine with my cats, but after a couple of days it got out, and I was trying to find it before I went to work. Well someone said they had seen it so I grabbed it and shoved it indoors quickly and dashed off to work. When I got back someone else was looking for their cat, and when I looked I realised I had grabbed the wrong one. I never saw Dandy again. A few years later my mum who lived about a mile from me over some busy roads, had a cat adopt her, a fully grown one with a white bib just like Dandy. She called him Sooty tho and had him for several years -always wondered if he was the kitten I found and lost.

Thanks for the good wishes folks. The babies have settled in ok, they are eating & drinking & were happy on my lap. I'll take some pics over the w/end but as I don't have a digital camera it could be some time before I get them on the site, so don't hold your breath. I'm working tomorrow so they will be on their own all day but then I have three days off so will have plenty of time to socialise them. Off to bed now, night all Vivienne xx

I've picked up a litter of three kittens today, about 6 wks old. The vets have leant me a pen & they are gorgeous. The one on my lap at the moment looks all black until it lifts it's head & stands. Then you can see it has four white paws & a white bib. I've just changed kittens & this one is very feisty, again mostly black with four white paws, a white bib that extends round the neck a little & a tiny white tip to the tail. number three is all white underneath with a black head & back. Hi Vivienne, I have just read your thread and like others want to applaud your hard work and efforts with the ferals. Hopefully they will all be so much happier now that they can 'have fun' without adding to the number of babies needing feeding!!!!!! You must be very proud of yourself and deservedly so...well done!
