Anne Some of my ancestors used to live in Stonehaven. I haven't really seen it properly since I was little. May try to visit there when I'm up in Aberdeen. I used to love going there and also looved visiting Dunnottar Castle, my favourite of all the castles. x lesley

I spent my teens living in Aberdeen and it's definitely different from South. My sister lives in Livingston now (recently moved there from Glasgow) so whenever I visit I have to tune my ear into the accent! Joanne

There's a few in the area but they're not natives! My father in law was Fraserburgh and never lost his accent completely, he toned it down a bit as my mother in law was born in Inverness and lived there till she was 13. First time I heard the accent was on my wedding day and I was mesmerised. People kept speaking to me and I hadn't a clue what they were on about!
