I am sure you are all right... thank you for this... We do indeed tend to go a little to fast when typing out the words on a keyboard... and very often are a little careless in how we type... yes, that probably does attribute to my spelling disasters... lol Its this blooming memory block i keep getting when i need to use a certain word... and it gets lost behind a fog in my brain... its so annoying... normally i then quickly find another word with the same meaning, but lately i have struggled to even do that... Thing is.... having the job i have ( rubbish english again lol) I Know what the problem is and what the outcome is... oh i wish i had trained as a chef or something..... lol

Joy It's not so much that I don't like it, more that I can't understand it LOL!! I use it a little in text messages - like L8R - but not very much cos I can't remember abbreviations (WOW - that's a big word - LOL!) Lynne

Em, i have the most appauling spelling and yet i passed English and got an A, but some how its gone awfully wrong over the years! I go into a room and forget why i went in there! Please dont apologise. You had a serious accident, i think most of us would applaud you for how you have overcome it. Many of us may have given up or given in. love Donna x

I have probs with spelling due to senior moments ,and, getting my fingers in twist when I'm doing two fingered typing. I have spell checker in the Google bar and If I'm doing a long speel then i get the spell checker to give it the once over. But does it really matter?? we are what we are & people can take it or leave it as far as I'm concerned. I,m afraid if i got picked up on my spelling then they would get short shift.after all they dont know if I,ve got a problem of some sort Shirley

Christine.....I do a similar thing when typing my address. When I'm typing Yorkshire, I quite often find I've hit a T instead of the second R! lol

Just read your bit on forgetting words Em. My MiL is the same, and I just ask her to think of something near to it, or describe it. We both laugh at her descriptions. On the phone, telling me what she had for tea. A sandwich with, you know, that green stuff in it. What, lettuce, No. Cucumber. No, little bits of green stuff. I know, she says, its cress, cress - I haven't had it for ages. I know it sounds long winded, but it does help her, and we both have a good laugh in the process. Especially as sometimes I know what she's describing, but have forgotten the name myself. Talk about the blind leading the blind.....

My memory has always been bad, but I struggle through. And as for typos, I presented a paper to one on our committees with the chairman's name as Mrs Fukker instead of Mrs Fuller : whoops!

Just been reminded of something else. Hubby loves to tell everyone how I can never remember the right word for things and once went into the greengrocers and asked for those little round red things:))

Em - I have honestly never noticed any spelling mistakes in your threads and actually I've always thought how intelligent you come across! I don't generally pick people up on their spelling or grammer - I would hate to embarrass someone - besides mine's not that hot. lol My Dad has always had a terrible memory and then had a triple heart by-pass just over 2 years ago and now he has a tendency to repeat himself - we just ignore it. Don't worry too much about it. Kaye x By the way - I can never remember how to spell Shepherd anyway and I have a GSD Dog!
