Dearest Em, I am sorry to hear about your accident and the side affects it has caused. I would never have thought you had problems. Your posts always seem fine. As for the person who pointed out your spelling error. Is their spelling perfect? Thinking of you Raven

Have a hug! ((E)) So what if you have a problem with spelling; what's it to them??You're still a fantastic writer. That's why authors have editors, it's not the spelling and grammar, it's the IDEAS that count and your brain certainly doesn't lack those! I forget words too and I'm always using the wrong ones. I have no excuse at all. We had a babycue instead of a barbecue the other night - the mind boggles! LOL I remember a great play on television some time ago with Thora Hird. She had had a stroke and had problems remembering her words. Her therapist was insisting that, if she couldn't remember a word, she should describe it and was reminding her a bit sharply that that was what she should be doing. Thora Hird's character then retorts 'But I ALWAYS called IT his THINGAMAJIG!!' - priceless LOL Stuff 'em Em - Now where's the next episode?? Mags xxx

Oh so you do that too Deanna - if I wake up in the night I often remember the names of the people or things I have forgotton during the day.........funny that....

Deanna

Deanna Report 14 Jun 2006 17:17

Em, I used to be so good at spelling, but now I often have to sit and really think!! Memory going too, but at least I have my OH. We were talking today about someone (in the past) and could not remember her name........... it took the two of us an hour!! BUT we did get it in the end!! Isn't that cause for celebration? LOL And I would NEVER laugh at anyone whose spelling was not up to scratch. That is not why I join in the fun on here. Deanna X :-0)

Em - I have honestly never noticed any spelling mistakes in your threads and actually I've always thought how intelligent you come across! I don't generally pick people up on their spelling or grammer - I would hate to embarrass someone - besides mine's not that hot. lol My Dad has always had a terrible memory and then had a triple heart by-pass just over 2 years ago and now he has a tendency to repeat himself - we just ignore it. Don't worry too much about it. Kaye x By the way - I can never remember how to spell Shepherd anyway and I have a GSD Dog!

Em, I am sorry to hear that you have been made to feel embarrassed, it was a thoughtless thing to do. Don't let it bother you! Lindy, who speaks and writes 'funagalore' ;-)))

Just been reminded of something else. Hubby loves to tell everyone how I can never remember the right word for things and once went into the greengrocers and asked for those little round red things:))

My memory has always been bad, but I struggle through. And as for typos, I presented a paper to one on our committees with the chairman's name as Mrs Fukker instead of Mrs Fuller : whoops!
