Living years- Mike and the mechanics. Every generation Blames the one before And all of their frustrations Come beating on your door I know that I'm a prisoner To all my Father held so dear I know that I'm a hostage To all his hopes and fears I just wish I could have told him in the living years Crumpled bits of paper Filled with imperfect thought Stilted conversations I'm afraid that's all we've got You say you just don't see it He says it's perfect sense You just can't get agreement In this present tense We all talk a different language Talking in defence Say it loud, say it clear You can listen as well as you hear It's too late when we die To admit we don't see eye to eye So we open up a quarrel Between the present and the past We only sacrifice the future It's the bitterness that lasts So Don't yield to the fortunes You sometimes see as fate It may have a new perspective On a different day And if you don't give up, and don't give in You may just be O.K. Say it loud, say it clear You can listen as well as you hear It's too late when we die To admit we don't see eye to eye I wasn't there that morning When my Father passed away I didn't get to tell him All the things I had to say I think I caught his spirit Later that same year I'm sure I heard his echo In my baby's new born tears I just wish I could have told him in the living years Say it loud, say it clear You can listen as well as you hear It's too late when we die To admit we don't see eye to eye Nicky |

Joan Baez,,,,'Forever Young'',,,played at the funeral of a friend and work collegue who was diagnosed with liver cancer and died in just 3 weeks,,,She was 42,,,she chose the way her funeral would proceed and said that she would be watching us all as we listened,,, The song played and there wasnt a dry eye to be seen,, To me,,she would always be forever young, |

There are so many but Even Now by Barry Manilow has to be my all time favourite song to make me cry. For 'R' Even now when there's someone else who cares When there's someone home who's waiting just for me Even now I think about you as I'm climbin' up the stairs And I wonder what to do so she won't see That even now when I know it wasn't right And I've found a better life than what we had Even now I wake up cryin' in the middle of the night And I can't believe it still could hurt so bad Even now when I have come so far I wonder where you are, I wonder why it's still so hard without you Even now when I come shining through, I swear I think of you And how I wish you knew, even now Even now when I never hear your name And the world has changed so much since you've been gone Even now I still remember and the feeling's still the same And this pain inside of me goes on and on, even now Even now when I have come so far I wonder where you are I wonder why it's still so hard without you Even now when I come shinin' through I swear I think of you and God, I wish you knew Somehow, even now Others sure to get me weeping include - Sometimes When We Touch - Dan Hill Just When I Needed You Most - Randy Vanwarmer Only You - Flying Pickets Two out of Three Ain't Bad - Meatloaf You're in my Heart - Rod Stewart Sue xx |

He ain't heavy he's my brother. My four other children carried my Son's coffin out of Church to that song-there was not a dry eye in the church apparently. Very moving, very touching, their choice. |

Lots of songs make me cry if they remind me of people. The worst one is Unchained Melody - don't know why. I sob so much everytime I hear it - can be very embarressing at times. Lindax |
