Dance with my Father His Birthday is on Sunday 09/07 Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then Spin me around 'til I fell asleep Then up the stairs he would carry me And I knew for sure I was loved If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him I'd play a song that would never, ever end How I'd love, love, love To dance with my father again When I and my mother would disagree To get my way, I would run from her to him He'd make me laugh just to comfort me Then finally make me do just what my mama said Later that night when I was asleep He left a dollar under my sheet Never dreamed that he would be gone from me If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him I'd play a song that would never, ever end 'Cause I'd love, love, love To dance with my father again Sometimes I'd listen outside her door And I'd hear how my mother cried for him I pray for her even more than me I pray for her even more than me I know I'm praying for much too much But could you send back the only man she loved I know you don't do it usually But dear Lord she's dying To dance with my father again Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream

you got wires, going in you got wires, coming out of your skin you got tears, making tracks i got tears, that are scared of the facts running, down corridors through, automatic doors got to get to you, got to see this through i see hope is here, in a plastic box i've seen christmas lights, reflect in your eyes you got wires, going in you got wires, coming out of your skin there's dry blood, on your wrist your dry blood on my fingertip running, down corridoors through, automatic doors got to get to you, got to see this through first night of your life, curled up on your own looking at you now, you would never know i see it in your eyes, i see it in your eyes you'll be alright i see it in your eyes, i see it in your eyes you'll be alright alright running, down corridors through, automatic doors got to get to you, got to see this through i see hope is here, in a plastic box i've seen christmas lights, reflect in your eyes down corridors, through automatic doors got to get to you, got to see this through first night of your life, curled up on your own looking at you now, you would never know. xx so it's a happy ending really

Oh gawd, so many. For some reason 'He aint heavy, he's my brother' gets me bawling Once, twice, three times a lady (One of mums favs) I only called to say I love you (ditto the above, but she would sing it when she rang) Its a Wonderful World - my dear dads fav because he took pleasure in all the nature around him. We had that song played at his funeral. If you leave me now (your gonna break the very heart of me) - I heard that playing as I left the hospital after visiting mum when she was gravely ill I cant live, if living is without you (Someone who was once very important to me phoned me once and just left that song on my answer phone) Love dont live here any more (similar reason to one above)
