I've just read through the SADS website. My first husband died of a heart attack aged 33. This was in the early 1970's and not so much was known then about it. No-one referred to is as anything like SAD. I only found out later watching something on the television that this kind of thing could be hereditary and since then my two boys have been checked regularly. I did get a bit confused...........the test my sons have is a blood test and there's no mention of this on the site. I did check with the British Heart Foundation and they confirmed that the test they had was the right one. It'salways worth contact the British Heart Foundation over any concerns. They have been very helpful to me in the past. |

Jenn - You do need to talk. I have lost a son and it was sudden though not quite the same as yours. Please get in touch with the Compassionate Friends in Bristol. There you will be able to talk and 'meet' people who have gone through the same thing. It's nearly 15 years ago since I lost my son, my only child, and I'm still in touch with some of the people I 'met' at TCF. I don't have an update phone number I'm afraid but you should still be able to find them. My sincere condolences and love. Jill xxxx |
