No Nynene, Are you thinking about Robin of Locksley. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't even know where Locksley is, it must be a really small place. To be honest, Nottingham never made a big thing about Robin Hood up until they made the Kevin Costner film Theres a statue of him outside Nottingham Castle and his arrow was missing the whole time I was little. He just stood there with his bow and a bent elbow!!

Hi Sue, I'm fine thanks, hope you are My Dad was born in Barnet workhouse and Barnet is the site of an ancient and well-known horse fair, hence the Cockney rhyming slang of 'Barnet' for 'hair'. The fair goes back to 1588 when Queen Elizabeth I granted a charter to the Lord of the Manor of Barnet the right to hold a twice yearly fair

There is a very famous poem about one of its glorious buildings - the prison!

Hi Awdrey I studied Bath when I did a course about Pleasure resorts, that and other places. It was fascinating. I did my essay on the benefits of sea water, I was amazed how much of it people used to drink (yes DRINK) ;-))

Not the town where I was born (also the one famous for the Yellow Submarine etc) but the town/village where I live reputedley had the first life boat station, is famous for its red squirrel reserve and one of the founders of Littlewoods (football pools, department stores and catalogues) lived here. Ok see if you can guess... My City is famous for The Beatles,Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy Fury and many other musical geniuses (sp). A very large nude statue on a department store. A ferry that crosses a river, a bird that is our emblem, two cathedrals, two football teams, a magnificent cathedral...I could go on but I am sure that there are enough clues! Beryl x

Where I was born hmmmmmmmmmm haven't a clue as haven't been back since mum and dad took me home from hospital. Only born there as was the nearest RAF hospital to Norfolk. Know it has a Cathedral.
