Love Christmas! Have written my cards - just been putting stamps on envelopes. Tree goes up 1st December, and comes down 1st January, cos son's birthday is on 5th, and It seems a bit mean to still be doing Christmas instead of his birthday. Sharon xx

Joy you can get some really nice modern ones now - all you have to do is get them out of the box ... no decorating to do! I always try to make sure mum has a tree up, just to make it feel a bit festive. Treat yourself ! Ours will go up probably 9th December. Kids were only asking me yesterday when it would be! Maz. XX

Angela - know how you feel. Hated it a couple of weeks ago when peeps were talking about making Christmas puds/cakes. Mine are made by Te**o God knows when and bought by me about 3 days (about 6 am) before the Day. It's my age you know. Am over 50, work full time and think 'oh flip! - as long as 12 year old is happy and food on the table, that will do me. Libby x

Birthday cards should always stay up for at least 10 days no matter what time of the year. Keep 'em up -makes you seem more popular. Friends daughter's birthday is on Boxing Day - always try to make it special. Always think it is a lousy day to born if you are a child. Must always think one or the other is compromised !! Libby x

Libby Report 2 Nov 2006 00:28

Try to put it up about 15th December, the nearest weekend (the nearer the better) before Christmas. Depends on my my shitfts and how much my 12 year old daughter nags but I usually win in the end because I have to climb into the loft. LOL. Comes down as soon as possible after New Year. Am going to go for a real one this year, can't beat the smell. Have put up with an imitation one for the last 6 years because OH thought it was more cost effective !!!. Always said he talks a load of tripe.LOL. He gets up on Christmas morning and 'hey presto' it's all done !!. Libby xx

Put it up as late as possible and get it down as quick as possible! Telling porkies ... put it up for my grandmother's birthday 18th December and take it down the day after my father's birthday 4th January. (both passed away now) Viv
