DON'T WORRY PIP, IT IS IN MOST COMPUTER GUIDE BOOKS THAT CAPS ARE SHOUTING. I USE IT TO EMPHASISE A WORD SOMETIMES! YOU DO WHAT YOU NEED TO, DOESN'T BOTHER ME........AT LEAST I CAN HEAR WHAT YOU'RE SAYING! LOL ;-)))

Kay I had to ask the question, as it seems Phillupa seems more upset than she should be regarding the use of caps. After all, the thread is called Message Board GUIDELINES Tips and tricks Which although it contains tips (some things people need to be aware of on a forum )..It is not LAW., and shouldnt be percieved as such. Id also like to add, that some forums dont allow the use of caps throughout the text (other than in the right places) and some dont like text talk either. Posts will be removed in all cases.as sometimes the text is difficult to read and / or understand. (This is the case of a forum I belong to) Elaine x ps please dont get the wrong end of the stick, I totally support your need to use caps on here.

Just read the 'Tips & Tricks' thread. It's ok Philluppa my question has been answerd.

Elaine, I dont think from what Pipps said *someone pulled her up*just that she has read *Tips&Guide, and found it in there,so has come on to give her reasons for posting in Caps,,

Phillupa Can you clarify someone has actually has a go at you for using caps ? And if so, how did they react when you explained your sight problem ? Because my thread is a general tips one, and is not a slur on members who cannot see well and have to use caps for this purpose. Personally i feel you are taking it a tad too personal now, by your comment on my thread (even though you have placed smileys on it) and on this one by mentioning you read in my tips thread about 'MY RUDENESS' I understand the fuss if you'd been slated on the board because of your use of caps , but cant understand your upset if you havent been told off. As said, no one minds you posting in caps as you have explained why, But all I ask is, if someone who misses this thread, pulls you up on your use of caps, I hope people wont attack them for doing it. If they dont know your circumstances, it wont be their fault Elaine x

Thanks Phillupa That is interesting. Well maybe I was right to think that when I joined then. Is that when someone types the whole message in caps or does it apply also when using one word in caps? Thanks again Phillupa xxxx

Phillupa Who wrote that thread about using the boards? Id like to read it. It's just that when I first started using these boards, using caps I thought was shouting. As everyother website Iv ever visited had used caps as a form of shouting. On genes reunited though, people use caps to highlight a word there trying to get across. I unfortunately found this out the hard way. It is a shame that you had to apologise and explain yourself though, you are a full paying member afterall. But it was thoughtful of you, hope you enjoy your stay at GR.

Steve Apparently lots of people are having issues with IE7 at the moment. I dont think im in the minority, and had I realised the problems others were also having, I wouldnt have given myself the stress of upgrading to it lol ! If its got problems, then it shouldnt be released as an upgrade until they are ironed out. Ill try again some time down the line, im all for progress (and I noticed the magnifier) but wont install it again unless they iron out the issues. I just couldnt use it as it was with the creen freezes etc. E x
