Parish Priest....postman.....neither of my grandmothers worked after marriage, though one worked in a home for unmarried mothers before she married. |

mums dad was a carpenter hubbys dads dad was a stone mason his mums dad was a shoemaker Dads dad was a miner then aluminium factory worker then worked on the buses. dads mum was in service to a well to do family watched princess margaret slid down the banisters but the queen was a bit more refined. |

My maternal grandmother was a kitchen maid in Vale lodge in Leatherhead and that was where she met my grandfather who was the gardener there. My Paternal grandfather was a school headmaster but don't know much about my grandmother. Jackie |

I think that being a blacksmith must have run in my family earlier. My grandfather, and his father and grandfather were all blacksmith. My dad didn't carry on the tradition. He became an electrician. My grandfather on my mum's side was a tram driver, and his father was a master baker. |
