My niece has just died

Thinking of you at this time as my mum only died of lung cancer in december four years after losing my dad to another form of cancer. Cancer can be such a horrible disease. My parents were by no means old 60 and 62 when they passed away but both were brave till the end. We only knew for 5 weeks before we lost each of them. Me and my sister have had to pull together now. In time feelings calm down, i went through anger, disbelief, hate, jealous of my friends who still had parents, hopelessness. Time heals but memories never fade or are lost. Concentrate on the times that were good and support each other in the times to come. |

So sorry to hear this news Val, I was young when my dad died and a very old family friend said the following thing to me at the time ' God only picks the best flowers for his garden ' and over the years this has brought great comfort to me as I hope it will to you and yours, don't forget those we love don't ever leave us they stay in our hearts & minds forever. Thank you everyone for your kind messages. The sad thing is that Tina went to Reading on Monday to buy her wedding outfit, her daughter had bought forward the wedding which was going to be in April, nobody expected her to go so quickly. Val |

Val, my sympathies to you and to your niece's family, how devastating for them all, especially with the wedding so close too. My dad died from lung cancer and it is heartbreaking to see anyone suffer so much. I hope everyone will take comfort from the fact there is no more pain for your niece, and think of the happier memories of their lives together. Liz |
