Well done, keep it up. I had my last cigarette at midnight on new years eve and have not had one since. Its one of the hardest things I have ever had to do but my goodness I am already feeling the benefits in my purse and to my health. So I wish you the best of luck!! :o)))

Its very difficult, to be fair I feel like I have got passed the worst of it. I found the first 2-3 weeks were the hard part. Its getting yourself out of the habit. I used the patches for 4 weeks which did prevent me getting all moody and snappy and then just stopped using them cos I felt I could do with out and have since. I don't actually fancy one anymore, the only time I think hmmm I could do with one is when I have a drink, so just have to be a bit more resistant when out. Its just a matter of taking your mind off it. Anyway, I'll stop harping on and good luck, if I can do it anyone can as they say! :o))

Well done Rose you are doing fantastic. I quit at 10pm on April 1st 2006 - so just over 11 months, hubby bought me a laptop when I hit 6 months, cant wait to see what I get for the year!! lol. I used the patches too, but when I got to about week 5 I thought I dont need these anymore, and I dont! I love not being a smoker, and you will be amazed how quick you do fall out of the habit. Good luck and if you want to PM me at any time for support please feel free, Again well done you deserve a huge pat on the back. Debs xx

Anytime Rose, I used to miss the inhaling, the thought of that now turns my stomach... Each to their own I say but to quit the cigs it has to be something you really want to do, you sound like you do and for that well done. You know how to find me , lol Debs x

Pleased as punch with myself - yesterday I had 4 and half - yes 4.5 cigarettes, for the first time ever. I had tried before to cut down but only ever managed about 7 a day. What helped me this time - every time I was going to have a cigarette I suddenly remembered the phone call I received on Friday. My sister - 4 years younger than me and a heavy smoker - is in hospital in Florida having suffered a heart attack. It scared the pants off me and is the biggest incentive I have ever had. Today is going to be a 4 or less - I am determined.
