I am glad that your husband had such a lovely send off yesterday Joan and that all of the family came together when it mattered.
I hope that you will feel well enough to come back to the chat soon <3 <3

So pleased to hear things went well and the weather didn't keep people away.
My eldest brother funeral was a nightmare this time two years agao as storms hit on the day.

Good to hear everything went smoothly Joan and also that the rift you mention did not spoil the day. So glad all of your family came together to support you and were able to be there on the day.

So glad we can be here for you and anyone else that needs a friend at anytime.

Take care now

I'm so glad it all went well, Joan - never an easy occasion, but good organisation makes such a difference.

Take good care of yourself now, in the next phase.

Hello to you all.
First of all i would like to THANK everyone for all the kind thoughts & such lovely messages that have been posted here, I am so overwhelmed by everyones kindness.

the day went very smoothly, it was a nice calm & sunny day, though there had been some snow during Wednesday night it didn't cause any problems.

The service was beautiful, the funeral directors were soo professional so kind & caring, they could not have done anything more in looking after every thing we had requested.

The reading of the Eulogy that our eldest son had complied was beautifully read out, the music playlist of many of the songs that both my husband Jack & myself had enjoyed over the years, were tear jerking...
There were many tears & many many hugs both witthin the family & from others who had attended the funeral.

The one good thing that came out of such a sad day was that ALL the family came together with such dignity, there had been a long time rift betwen a couple of the siblings over recent years but yesterday it did not show.
ALL our 5 grown up children came together & made sure that I was cared for.
The young grandchildren were wonderful & never put a foot wrong, so well behaved.

i am still struggling with losing my wonderful husband & best friend but with the help of my family & with friends like everyone on the Chit Chat thread I will get there.

THANKYOU for being my firends <3

Joan.

Morning all
We have had snow here for 2 days and although the roads are clear today, the garden and surrounding fields are still full of it.

A biting NE wind has scuppered the ferries once again but so glad I got my Tesco delivery yesterday.

No word from my estate agent this week so will tel a bit later on for an update, its awful being in limbo wondering if its all going through.

Linda, Im sure you have been very busy packing up everything and i dont envy you!

Hope everyone else ok and keeping warm.

Joan if you do look in, hope the day went smoothly <3

I hope that everyone is OK. I will be thinking of Joan tomorrow. <3 <3

The move is plodding along here. I am trying to swap over all the utilities etc. it is amazing just how many things are on the list. Most of it should be easily done on line, but the websites crash or when they seem to work, the follow up email is wrong. It is all head banging, but I will get there

Well done Linda. Happy you now have a moving date, thats a relief to you as you can now plan to that date.

Very cold here tonight and I have had to put the heating on in both bedrooms. Its promising snow at some stage but not sure if we will get the worst of it.

Today it has been raining all day and pretty grim outside. The wind died down but now it is getting up again and its bin day tomorrow, never fails.

I was making 10 bags of gift tags today with 10 strung cards in each. I ordered coloured hologram paper which is a good thick card. Took me about 2 hours, but all done and bagged up now ready for the Spring Fayre end of March.

Brother is back to work with a big support thingy covering his hand and my cut has now sealed properly so taken off my bandage as well.

Hoping I get to hear this week from sol or estate agents as not heard in awhile but the paperwork takes ages!

Hoping the sun shines on Thursday for you Joan <3
