It sounds great Florence.....Well, apart from the midges. I'm not keen on them.

I can imagine the wonderful sunsets, what a view for you.

Let's hope that something can be done soon about getting the landline up and running.

Hello Chit Chatters!
Well the move went okish.Had a few issues with the removal van so I have put pen to paper raising my concerns!
I can actually see the lounge carpet now.Bixes were floor to ceiling on Monday.
Telephone isn't in yet and talking to the other 3 neighbours, they were told by BT(not my provider,), there is no room for 4 more lines!!! So I'm using my mobile data on my phone which I'm being very frugal with.I get 5GB a month.
It is a lovely new house but less space and cupboards so I do feel a little squashed at the moment.
There is however a local boot fair in 2 weeks so still plenty big things to sell.
Neighbours are a couple in mid 50s,a man in his 40s just left his wife and a young couple 24 and 26 not yet married.Hecwas in school with my son.Made me feel very old when I spoke to him as he looks so young lol

Both neighbours have kindly offered to mow my front lawn for me as I'm not fit for it.I have someone coming to do the back garden on Monday.Thst is really a huge area.

I guess I shall have to do some baking to thank them.

Glorious sunsets last few days at 10.30 pm,just fab watching over the sea
The view is fab.

Hope everyone ok.

I will post as and when, just not everyday until landline is in and WiFi up and running.

I would invite you all to a house warming, just a little to far to come, but we could easily have a self distancing BBQ here no problem except for the midges here.

Take care all and I'll be back soon

Ginnies neighbour story reminded me of one of ours ( work colleagues also living in a tied house).

We overslept a bit one Sunday morning and were woken up by a dreadful noise. Eventually worked out that next door were removing a forsythia which had overgrown into our garden and was well rooted on our side. It was a shame as it gave a balance to the border. They never told s what they were planning. It must have even really difficult to haul it out of the ground and over the high fence.

Morning all.

Barbara we could do with some overnight rain just to give it time to soak in.

Ann, Our neighbours are very nice but a little strange when it comes to the garden. :-)
There is always something to be done isn't there? A lot of my plants are in large pots with just the climbers and small fruit trees along the sides .

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Hope the move has gone well for you Florence.

good morning all. Florence hope all is progressing with the move.
Ginnie, strange neighbours you have, how sad to pull up all the shrubs and plants, what a soulless garden it must be,

I have been busy in the garden too, quite hard work this time of year when there is only one to do it, turn your back and the weeds have grown again, bin was emptied on Wednesday is already a third full again. :-)

Hello all, hope you are enjoying the nicer weather . We have been busy in the garden . Our neighbours don't like plants and have been removing all the shrubs etc that the previous owners put in. This included an Ivy which had grown along the fence as the root was in their garden when they dug it out the top died. It looked awful so we had to remove it from our side as well. As they pulled it from their side of the fence the panels broke so meant 2 new fence panels. 20 years of Ivy growth will do that though. The only thing in their garden now are 2 stumps that are hard to remove and the grass. Each to their own though. We have been tidying our climbers to try to prevent the hanging over the fence as if they do the neighbour is out there cutting away . This is because they don't like spiders and flies which apparently flourish in plants :-S :-D

This time last week it was Devon rain that we ‘enjoyed’Dermot. But we did have sun Wednesday and Thursday. It is gorgeous here today, a lot of the jungle has been attended to. I was out there for ove two hours.

Aawe poor Esme, she is not going to understand and Eve will be feeling it is her fault as it is her class. Has she stayed clear of symptoms? How will you make it up to her?
I see you have been busy too Joan.

There's a fair bit of chit chat going on in the mature hedge by my front door all morning.

I'm monitoring the comings & goings of the 'dad' of the Pigeon family.- I assume it is mainly the 'dad' that provides the food.

Thankfully, I no longer have to worry about my pesky cat since he passed away some time ago. But the neighbours' pets do tend to hang around at a respectful distance. :-|

The Devon sun is blasting away & the fan is on a full speed in an attempt to keep the bird couple in comfortable circumstances.

They are indeed Ann, the older one who is self isolating sobbed her heart out when she realised. Little Esme knew she was going to a holiday house with us. My daughter has taken her away for the weekend, staying in a Travelogdge ( not quite the same). She has booked various children’s activities in the area to keep them busy. That is all very well, but this morning on FaceTime, when she was reminding Esme of the plans, she then said they would be going home. That did not please Esme, she was yelling”No- go holiday house”. She isn’t able to understand why they can’t go because of the “poorlyness “

Good luck with the move, I hope everything runs smoothly
We are pretty fed up here as we were supposed to go to Centre Parcs yesterday with our daughter, son in law and two granddaughters. It has had tho be cancelled because there is a positive COVID case in the class of one of the girls, so she has to self isolate for ten days. We will get the money back, but can’t rearrange it as it has to be in the school holidays and they are fully booked in the summer

Joan every time my OH fell I could not get him up and like yours he had no strength, so strange when only a month before he had been working in the garden. He never fell outside, only indoors, as far as I know he never regained any strength until he died in hospital 3 months later.

Just make sure your hubby has some sort of support when outside Joan. <3 <3
