Hi Joan, so glad you are ok. Its been very quiet here, hardly any post and misty murky weather so noone out for any walks.
Your appointment was rather late and i wouldnt like to be out now when its dark either. Poor hubby, hope you can get another panel. Would you be better taking the bath away and putting a spacious shower in? Help the aged did this for my mum. She can sit and bathe and manage to wash her hair as well.
Waiting to hear from community nurse still to come to my home & give me my first Covid jag so shall have to chase that again on Monday and also no word re my scan so another phone call to chase it up.
All I seem to be doing is chasing things up!
Finally received a package from my cousin in Oz posted 21st November by airmail!! Lovely calendar but the newsy letter is a bit out of date now as we emailed our news! Oh well at least it turned up.
Been cleaning out cupboards all week. Today was the baking cupboard. Oh my didnt think I had that much until we emptied it completely but still well stocked for awhile yet.
Nothing happening here over the weekend unless we win the lottery...in our dreams eh!
Stay safe all

Yes that is a worry. Hope we hear soon and it is nothing to worry about. We had thick fog and a hard frost and the fog only lifted for about an hour all day when we saw a glimmer of sun. I did manage to walk carefully to the hairdressers it was a bit slippy under foot but it was good to get my hair cut.

Hi Linda. Im very pleased for you and so hope the move will eventually go smoothly.
Will be lovely for you being so much nearer and the wee ones will be able to see nanna or grandma whatever they call you. Its great to have family to help as it can be such a stressy time.
I have my daughter here with me and she was a great help packing up the van when i moved here last may.
Been another damp, misty murky day here and very cold. Stayed indoors and just did usual chores. Just waiting on my Tesco delivery between 7-9 pm but wish it would come now. Hate putting things away late at night, too tired then.
This site as i mentioned on another thread is playing up and stopping me looking up things grrr
Joan, hope all is ok as havent seen you for a few days. Hope hubby is ok?

Afternoon peeps. Been a quiet few days here, damp & very chilly but yesterday it was actually bright & sunny. Daughter walked to the beach for a lovely walk. Have to say I was extremely jealous but hey ho one day i shall be able to hopefully.
Had a lovely surprise in the garden yesterday. Since I moved here in May, i have only seen the usual birds ie sparrows, starlings, crows and a green finch. but yesterday, my lovely Robin has returned, well probably not the exact one from the old house but I was delighted to see him at the feeding tube.
I have missed seeing one everyday as I use to. Was a delight and really cheered me up.
Been shredding for Scotland today but up to date now. have been decluttering papers and clearing out things.
Hope everyone else is keeping ok?

Hello all, chilly and wet here and what started as rain is now sleet . Have with OHs help moved the furniture and have given the skirting and floor a good clean also cleaned the inside of the windows , the window cleaner did outside on Monday so windows are done now except the kitchen (inside) which g/son will do on his day off, he is tall and doesn't need steps to reach.
Joan I hope hubby has got over his fall, I have poor balance now so I know how it feels to fall over nothing, really shakes you up.
Florence hope it doesn't snow too much. Seems to be a long time since we had a sunny winter day it is always damp and dismal. Sleet has now turned to proper snow here but hopefully won't last long
Take care all.

Afternoon peeps. Well its brrrrr here and heating on full. The wind has finally died down but the showers are sleety hail and there is a snow warning for tomorrow!!
Thankfully, daughter is on route home with a few bags of essentials so we shall be ok for a week or more.
I took down all the xmas cards, ornaments and the 2 trees. Oh my what a job took ages but I took my time and was finished around 2pm.
Gave a good dusting all over and looks brighter now in the living room.
Feeling a bit tired so have sat down at PC to rest my legs awhile. Got my new bed set today that i ordered with xmas giftcard so threw it in the machine. Always wash it first as it feels so stiff and creased out of the packaging. More ironing for tomorrow lol.
Enjoy the stir fry Joan, sounds very tasty. Think it will be a quick Pizza, chips & salad for us but havent eaten it for a week so looking forward to it.
Take care outside and mind the slippery paths

Good afternoon all Not had a great nights sleep as young ones next door woke me up by banging their bedroom door at 2am!! Dont think they have carpet all through so sounds a lot noisier.
Anyway at 5am, the wind woke me as was howling gale but managed to drop off until....9.30!!! Oh my got up very quickly as i remembered it was black bin day.
So lucky as they came early for a change and I had literally just put it out when they arrived. I took it back in straight away as the wind picked up again and it would have blown away.
No ferries until Wed due to gales and lack of crew as many have Covid and not enough relief ships or staff to cover. I have enough milk, bread etc until Wed but I expect the shelves will be empty today.
My own appetite hasn't been good since xmas day and even then, I ate my xmas lunch but no xmas pudding. All I've been eating is toast & marmite and a bowl of cornflakes.
Not feeling ill but just out of sorts.
Anyway, just pottering around tidying up and a bit of dusting today and thats it.
Hope everyone else is ok. Joan hope you enjoyed your New Year dinner, Im sure it was tasty,
Did anyone watch the new series of Call the Midwife last night?

Morning all. Lovely dry & sunny day for us, there is a bit of wind but nothing serious.
Took a walk around the "grounds" earlier, picked up some twigs that had come down & noticed a lot of our Snowdrops & Daffies are just peeping through! Still not found the Peanut bird feeder that was blown away recently it's a new one as well, just not seeing it lying anywhere!
I got my ironing all done, I don't mind ironing but I do have to take a break / sit down for a few minutes after doing just a few items, my legs tire as well Florence,
I have got our delayed New Years day dinner started, looking forward to it.
Joan.

Oh Joan, poor hubby! Glad he didnt need to go to hospital but still how awful.
I agree people going over the border to get in a nightclub...blooming selfish if you ask me! Very quiet around here with just a couple of cars passing by but the weather is dire anyway and I have no intention of opening the front door.
I did a huge pile of ironing yesterday but left some as my legs were sore.
Enjoy your dinner tomorrow. i may make a mushroom curry on Sunday as not really hungry today.
Take care Florence in the hebrides

Happy new year to all. I just popped the tv on about 11.45 and went on bbc news so i could see London etc and then my dad tel at midnight for 5 mins. I was in bed by 12.30. Was just like any other night really.
Its blowing a hooley here, wind 60 mph and electric been off and back on!
JG the soaps!!! Oh my I watch them but yes how depressing. Emmerdale storyline with the wicked Mina. How long can that go on and how does her sisters arms not ache laying in that position for sooo long, never mind the loo.lol
They all use to have a good knees up. Remember the queen vic on xmas day, one huge xmas day dinner for the extended families.
Anyway heres to a better year for everyone.
Hope everyone ok and keeping well

Well Jan 1st is here and I hope you all had a good last night of 2021. We stayed at home (as usual ) and saw the new year in with the TV on for the bongs of Big Ben. Apart from that nothing different from any other weekend really. Like everyone we are hoping 2022 will see us safely through this pandemic and back to a normal life that means we don't have to have updates of infection rates all the time.
Florence it seems like the last year was busy for you with the changes you had. Well done on the novel . Will you publish it when you finish ? Not that I know anything about writing a book just love reading them.
Watched the 2 soaps on itv yesterday , gosh how depressing are they at the moment , so much unhappiness on both of them. Do they have the same script writers I wonder? A bit of comedy would be welcome Moaning over now. lol.
Take care all. Enjoy 2022 as best you can.
