	Well, the object of the exercise is to put him off Pat. Make it as gory as you can said his Mum! Just as well, cos most of them died at sea :-D :-D :-D

	One of the Sea Captains was torpedoed by a U-Boat in 1918. He went down with the ship aged 76. There's YouTube videos of divers in that very ship off Beachy Head

	Tell him this the Pre Joining Fitness Test: two 1.5-mile runs (2.4 km) on a treadmill at 2% incline, the first to be completed within 12 minutes 30 seconds, the second within 10 minutes, with 1 minute of rest in between. :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S

	No, I'll be balanced about it. I've got loads of pictures of the ships they were all on. I will make maps of where they went. His 5x Great Granddad was Press-ganged in the Cove of Cork at taken aboard a Man-o-War to fight with the British against the Americans in the 1812 War :-D So lots of stories :-D

	The Royal Navy sent out a general signal last year to all ex naval personnel if you have the following naval qualifications................. for jobs in these areas and want to reapply for navel service etc. They have new ships but not enough sailors to sail them :-S

	That's a shame :-( My Great Aunt threw away lots of photos not long before she died. She thought she was helping so we'd have less to clear out. I wish I'd known

	I suppose the experience they have at that age will be invaluable to them as long as they can pass fitness tests I expect
