White eggs (but only the whites), white four, white sugar, white mixing bowl and white mixing spoon. Oh, I almost forgot, white milk!

I think that I'll call it a snow cake, but with my luck it will probably turn to sleet

I'll write the recipe on a whiteboard, using a white crayon.

When did chefs make the transition from mere chefs, who occasionally appeared on television or gave the odd demonstration, to ‘celebrity chefs'?

And surely if you were trying to boost business, you’d be better off with a quiet but brilliant chef and an outgoing front-of-house manager? I think!

I can't stand cruelty to any object whether animate or inanimate, but in the case of fish fingers the cruelty is heightened.

Not only are they battered, but they are then consumed :-0

I am always happy with leftovers for brekkies - bland or not. Just had some this morning.

OH never eats leftovers - all the more for me.

Talking about fish fingers, I only eat battered fish fingers as I hate breadcrumbs on food.

A battered fish finger butty - good white bread, thickly buttered, salt and vinegar and a touch of tomato sauce - <3

Fish fingers over here taste like cardboard, which I suppose is really bland.
