"While the band is now home safe, we are horrified and still trying to come to terms with what happened in France. Our thoughts and hearts are first and foremost with our brother Nick Alexander, our record company comrades Thomas Ayad, Marie Mosser, and Manu Perez, and all the friends and fans whose lives were taken in Paris, as well as their friends, families, and loved ones. |

Specially trained dogs are used for crime scene investigation in many countries. In France that includes active crime scenes e.g. shoot-outs and hostage situations where the dogs are very often of considerable help in indentifying explosive signatures, zones of opportunity and zones of danger. It is dangerous work. both for the dogs and the gendarmes and policemen. 135 officers have been killed on duty in France during the last 20 years. |

The dog was sent in to sniff out booby-traps. Sad of course, but by doing so he saved his human handler's life....... and probably the lives of a number of other French service personnel. |
