My nephews g.dau is called Alexie and I think it is lovely.

I have resisted until now saying my step.daus dog is Juno.

My friends son has called their first son Duke...... and when she first told me over the phone I was unable to answer straight away.. My friend had problems using his name at first but now says it without hesitation.

Now that is a name for a dog :-0

H'actually Dottie :-| unlike most other children (Who were born under a gooseberry bush!) I was born under a prickly hedge on Christmas day......

Hence the reason my Mother lovingly named me Prickly Holly. :-P

With a name like "Island"........I suppose you were born somewhere far more exotic??

Years ago a friend had a daughter she wanted to call Louisa her husband flatly refused saying it didn't go with their surname. The marriage didn't last long and they divorced, he remarried and had a daughter that they called ....Louisa. Clearly the new wife had more say about her daughters name than the first wife did.

Thankyou for the laughs - cheered me up no end :-D

I am having problems with my eyes at the moment - came on suddenly a couple of days ago. I've had some tests and more tomorrow. It's very difficult for me to read and type at the moment, so please forgive me for not replying. :-S

Juno was a Greek goddess of (had to google) the protector and special councillor of state.
I have to be fair when my sis in law named her daughter Alice both me and hubby said she was cruel (remember the song ! ) but she didnĀ“t have a problem.
