MotownGal Report 14 Nov 2013 20:00

I came upon this thread by chance,
was gonna spill my thoughts on one about dance

It seems we have some budding poets
Some by chance, others who know it!

The cold wind blows and makes teeth chatter
So I came on here to have a natter!

Susan wiv started the snowball running.......
Where is she now? Sitting sunning?

I know the last bit, it was lame...............
Never mind, tis only a game.

:-D :-D

Allan

Allan Report 14 Nov 2013 21:13

Methinks that John, whilst trying hard,
Has missed the mark by quite a yard.
Poems, and poetry, that just don't scan,
Are as useful as a chocolate pan.

Therefore when attempting verse,
Please try not to make it worse.
Even if you work 'til midnight chimes
Please try to ensure it rhymes

Just like the undertaker, who would bury deceased of either sex,
In advertising his trade, made people (living) vex
His crime? This verse:
I deal with him and hearse

JustJohn Report 14 Nov 2013 22:08

I muse on Allan's verse
It is many time worse
Than my epic prose
Or that of dear old Rose :-)

Rambling Report 14 Nov 2013 22:20

Now John, to "dear" I don't object
but think you should be circumspect
and ponder, before you get too bold,
whether you are wise to term me "old" :-)

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Nov 2013 01:22

I take the hint, dear rambling
My poor old brain is scrambling.
You're never old. I know, because
You are much younger than I, Rose :-D

Allan and Susan wiv - you must be impressed now. I feel as if I am in a groove. Betch and Carol Ann Duffy - watch out!!!!!

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Nov 2013 12:11

Boards quiet again
Oh!! What a shame
So very hard to live
Without prose from Susanwiv

Not forgetting Allan
Our Australind man
Or our dear rambler
Rhymes with Eric Ambler

Who wrote books
Nothing rhymes with books :-( :-(

Rambling

Rambling Report 15 Nov 2013 12:14

I can think of a rhyme to books,... my old French teacher Miss Foulkes :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Nov 2013 12:21

My old French teacher was called Mme Cr*p. Think we're both going down with the ship, Rose :-0 :-( :-(

She looks like an angel looks,
She cooks like an angel cooks,
And my minds in a kind of whirl,
Miss FFoulkes, she's my kind of girl.

:-D

Rambling Report 15 Nov 2013 12:25

Poor miss Foulkes, she had a tough time, she was one of those rather genteel ladies who should have taught adults rather than teenagers. I remember having to sit (as did all the class when one pupil was playing up) with my hands on my head :-(

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Nov 2013 12:35

I think I have fallen in love with Miss Foulkes. Mme Cr*p was a fearful old bag with heavily dyed red hair. She was, unlike moi, dreadfully snobbish. "Our land is bordered by the River Tame" she once boasted. About all I remember from my French lessons.

If anyone has seen the beautiful, meandering River Tame as it flows through Willenhall and Walsall - welll!!!! You will understand that her cup was definitely half full. Jerome K Jerome lived on the banks of the Tame in Walsall, but never remember him waxing lyrical about its fluvial merits.

John you have always been a master of words and now I think you can add poetry to your very long CV. I can see how you grown in just 2 days well done :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Nov 2013 12:54

You are too kind, sweet Hayley
With words of encouragement daily
Unlike that horrible Allan
Who might even sell his nan
I may indeed have grown
But will never attain your throne :-) ;-)

Allan

Allan Report 15 Nov 2013 21:23

Australind man.....I like it :-)

A new human sub-species has been discovered, Homo Australindus :-D

Perhaps John is not just a weaver of words, but also a Paleoanthropologist :-D :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 15 Nov 2013 23:27

Homo Australindus
Is never a wuzz
Allan, I dig it
Now I will lig it~~~~~~~

:-) :-) :-)

Edit
Prefer wimp to wuzz
Don't want a fuss
Must always be pc
Had an RR already todee :-( :-(

Allan

Allan Report 16 Nov 2013 21:43

John, it matters not,
Wimp or wuzz,
Not one jot
Do I care, nor will cuss
Because the term PC
Means a personal computer to me

Sorry to Hear you've been RR'd,
Your reputation has been feathered and tarred!
Was it by someone acting pro bono publico?
Or merely someone having a go?
I have no doubt that you'll bounce right back
And continue posting with your usual, very witty, knack
:-D :-D :-D

Ok, Shakespeare it ain't, but I am trying :-0

According to OH I'm very trying :-D :-D :-D

That's about the sighs of it, Susanwiv :-D :-D

Rambling Report 16 Nov 2013 22:31

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 16 Nov 2013 23:05

My Continental drift
Is causing thoughts to shift
To the famous Bridge of Sighs
I think it is in Ven-ize

Takes low bow :-D
