Following on from Sharrons" Obviously,

at work we often had Face to face meetings, often doom and gloom, where the management would come out and try to explain why things had gone right, gone wrong and what would be needed to be done to correct this phenomenon............

The speaker would insert into his prologue the words Obviously..and clearly...obviously etc would be interjected into the speech. when to us rank and file listerners it was no where near obvious at all.........but obviously it WAS Blatantly obvious to the management........who were clearly directly responsible for the predicament in the first place

Talking of teachers, the two most terrifying words in the world, and they were always written in red ink, were "See Me"!

Saying...ya know...after every few words...also ....basically and yeh.Others but can't think of them at moment!
May be my age,but language has got very relaxed to say the least...our old English teachers would have a fit!

Many of the things that emanated from the mouth of my mother.

Frequently an unnecessary and hurtful remark was accompanied by, "I am only telling you for your own good.".

I also dislike "I'm not being funny" and often tell them that, indeed, they are not making me laugh at all.

Conversations peppered with "obviously".

When people make a statement that is not funny in any way and laugh at the end of it.

'You simply MUST meet Soinso..you will just love him/her'. No I wouldn't, I dislike them already! :-D
