LadyScozz Report 25 Jun 2013 03:50

I received an email from GR, following up the message I sent to them about being reported.

They said I won't be getting an email saying I posted anything that went against T&C.

Nothing said about dealing with the "malicious reporter".

I wonder if I will receive an email about the other posts I had reported? Nothing went against T&C in them either.

Hope they do Joy, I will be watching in the hope that it was "temporarily" removed in order to stop the RRer from reporting the rest of your thread

has anyone noticed that a previously vociferous poster has failed to post on any of the threads currently running on this topic?

SylviaInCanada Report 24 Jun 2013 18:20

I am now going to go and have (a late) breakfast, and cogitate upon my reply to Estelle, based on the further events that have happened since I went to bed at about 8 am UK time (midnight my time)

Reading about those has also been a disagreeable shock!

I won't say surprise :-)

Note ..................

I have a copy of that post

I have also posted it on Hooray Henry

I will continue re-posting it if it is RR'd

I complained to Estelle last night about the disgraceful thread, and this is some of what she said in her reply to me .............

I would like you to know that we are taking this matter very seriously.

I completely agree that the word [was] unacceptable for a family history website.

I have been in close contact with the customer support team this morning who deal with all reports of abuse and we will be taking further action.

I would like you to know that we treat all members in exactly the same way. [no-one receives] any special treatment from us. .............. [other] board member[s] [have] been in to help us with testing.

I am sorry if this has been spoiling ........ enjoyment of our message boards. We are doing our very best to make sure this unpleasantness stops

let's hope so!!!!!

Genes have now contacted me - I have posted part of my email to them and their reply on the Hooray Henry/Henrietta thread.

I do hope that Joys thread gets re-instated.

Lyndi

Lyndi Report 24 Jun 2013 14:02

Thanks for that Roy, I hadn't seen it.
Maybe GR should reconsider after this weekend, (and I can see no point with allowing members to continue the conversation if the rr'd thread is going to be deleted anyway) :-S

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 24 Jun 2013 13:56

Lyndi Joy did suggest that as a solution seconded by me and GR dismissed the suggestion.

If 'the' thread that was rr'd over the weekend had 'locked' as soon as it was rr'd a lot of upset would have been avoided.

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 24 Jun 2013 13:48

With regard to Joys thread the only reasonable explanation I can think of for removing it would be a (temporary removal) in order to stop any more posts being reported on that thread.
