JustJohn Report 11 Jun 2013 23:54

Bed time, Errol. Getting a bit fratchety, methinks ;-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Jun 2013 23:52

No point Errol - I was having a gentle giggle. I didn't think the movie was real and I really have nothing more to add.

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 11 Jun 2013 23:50

And your actual point is.....?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Jun 2013 23:48

It isn't real? Oh dear......

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 11 Jun 2013 23:41

SueMaid it is a comedy film. It isn't real. trust me on that one :)

It is also very clever in its observational humour and Allen's take on how people are in "real life".

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 11 Jun 2013 23:33

:-D :-D @ Errol. Ceteris paribus (Compass take their staff on a French away day)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Jun 2013 23:20

Really John? Then I must be reading other things into some of the comments being made lately :-(

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 11 Jun 2013 23:19

SueMaid I have no idea what you mean. Have you seen the film? It is a comedy about a human chameleon and maybe a good reflection of and insight into many of us. Your statement that it is a film about a man with a mental illness is absolute bunkum and if you have seen the film and truly understand the comedy and pathos you would recognise that.
Let's face it, Shakespeare has been amusing and entertaining audiences for centuries with exactly the same comedic technique.

This is the first evening for ages when everybody (absolutely everybody) has been nice to each other.

And my friend has suggested a film. And I might watch it as it had a good review and it is a Woody Allen film.

Happy night for all of us on these threads. Long may it continue :-D :-D :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Jun 2013 22:45

That wasn't very nice Errol. Zelig is about a man who had a mental illness of sorts.

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 11 Jun 2013 22:11

Errol. I am a complete ignoramus about films. I have watched Dr Zhivago and Schindlers List, Grease, Dirty Dancing, and Saturday Night Fever. Had to wicky Zelig, I'm afraid.

Lynda. Totally agree. And I think there are less absolute no-gooders than we think. I am always amazed just how nice the vast majority of people are when you get behind the first impressions :-)
