I am pleased your brother is doing so well and is able to get around his bungalow well.

Hope you can get him a ride on a cruiser, especially now the weather is nice in Norfolk.

Are you keeping well now Sue?

occupational therapist came to see him,his bungalow is all in order and he does not need anything doing to it,
he is very happy as she has put in for a outside electric wheelchair for him.
he will be able to go to the shop with me or mum walking with him,

as we live in Norfolk my husband is making enquiries into renting a cruiser on the broad's for a day,he will love that as he cannot cope with lot's of people aroud him.

That's great anything that has him in control
can only be good and lessens his frustration
of having to depend on others.

we got my brother a small wheelchair for indoor's.
it goes round in circle's and it is controlled by a panel on the arm rest,it has given him some independence back while he is inside,as he live's in a bungalow he can go into every room quite easily.

a lot better than him trying to move about in a normal wheelchair.

oh dear,

he keep's arguing with himself as he keep's feeling pain in the leg which is not there,
he say's I know my leg is not there but it is giving me some jip.
I told him he is on medication for the bit's that are there but I cannot help him with his phantom pain, hopefully this will settle in time finger's crossed.

I hope you are having a peaceful night Sue and your brother will be ok in the morning, rested but still happy to snooze between medications so you can have some time to yourself as well.

Take care and look after yourself too as he will be in a mess without your ministrations.

I hope he will get on better now he is out of pain and home again

well he is home now,
a long day, after the doctor told him he could go home he got someone to use the mobile we left him to call me,can you come and get me he said,i told him I was on the way,i got there at about 12.15.i asked him if he had his tablet's,i don't need any he said oh yes you do I replied, the nurse told me they were waiting for pharmacy to deliver his medication to the ward.
he got in his wheel chair and we went for a coffee,he then refused to go back to the ward as he said they might change their mind's.
I had to park him up by the front door in the wheelchair he sat there for 3hrs,the only day we have had heavy rain,i got him home at about 4.15,he was singing all the way once we came through the barrier's at the hospital.
the hard work will start tomorrow as he was exhausted by the time he got in,all he wanted was his reclining chair and a decent cup of strong tea.

thank you all for your support this last 3 week's.

Sue, I am so pleased the outlook is brighter for your brother and you with him home and you having less travelling to do, altho you will have your work cut out looking after him at home I expect, at least you will see a smilier face I hope.

Best of luck to you all, it's not going to be easy but better than when your brother was in such pain.
