I had to delete the version in my favourites and come in by googling for the site. I saved it again to favourites and it has been fine since then

Rambling Report 11 Jun 2012 18:33

I didn't clear cookies, came in through My favourites as usual, on the UK site and got in the same time as GR posted that it was ok . So it seems that is not the problem as such?

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 11 Jun 2012 18:46

I had to log in via NZ.........................*sigh* it really isn't up to members to find a way into a site we pay for!

As has been posted on FB

May be GR should employ 10 year olds to solve these problems

I agree Sue, and if they have interfered with something they should tell people what they need to do to change things to get back in.

It'll be a long list Ann, I use Opera and my settings suit my browser. I'm sure they work on the principle that all members use IE and if they test that and it passes they tick the box!

JackyJ1593 Report 11 Jun 2012 21:04

I have just got back on.

If there is a technical problem I do think it unfair to have a go at GR. It's not their fault.

If your phone or internet provider have a fault you know it will take while to repair so why should a tech fault on GR be any different.

Maryanna Report 11 Jun 2012 21:06

Mine went off early this afternoon, I can get on to the message boards via Google but am unable to access my tree. I was just having fun putting my newly collected passenger records info onto my tree as well. M :-S

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 11 Jun 2012 21:32

Jacky, the main problem was not the fact that GR had a technical problem but yet again it was the way they handled the situation

They said that the site would be back online shortly, then they posted on FB that it was back online, despite many members not being able to get back to the site,

only in the last hour despite the site being up and running members where still posting on FB that they still cannot access the site and or parts their of

JackyJ1593 Report 11 Jun 2012 21:59

When they said the problem had been sorted, some people and probably GR themselves were back on line. The fact that some still weren't can't be blamed on the staff of GR.
