Camping-that would prove interesting, I'd be stuck on the floor. There must be a time & a place for it...The time has gone & there's no place I'd do it!

Get out of it lol...book me for a bedroom!!!!! Put Stray in the tent !!!

...I went camping in a tent once...and I swore NEVER AGAIN...the most uncomfortable unfun thing I've ever done......well that's probably a bit of an exaggeration...but I'd rather cut out off my ear lobes than spend another night under the canvas.

That was also in the days before my back went ping as well... lol...nowadays I'd be crippled for a fortnight without a decent mattress ..add another 3 wks on for the hard ground. Noooo thank you !!!!!!! x

I go to stopathome every year lol.

Seriously, I'd love to go away on holiday, but as we're on benefits now, it's just not possible to afford one. There's absolutely nothing left over for the luxury of a holiday, or indeed getting there. We don't have a car so going by train or coach would be the only way. Plus it's difficult to find places that will cater for disabled other than hotels (price prohibitive), or the occasional B&B.

We'd both love to go back to Wales again, himself being part Welsh and me because I simply adore Wales. It would be possible to rent a cottage, and that would be superb BUT, we've still got to get there. Nightmare and really not worth the trouble IMO. Forget flying anywhere, he won't do it.

Camping is out, either tent or caravan, he needs space for his wheelchair, and obviously we couldn't even consider a tent.

But we're used to it now. It's 14 years since I last went away and 17 since he did.

I'm going to the "Costa-Del-Southsea "
about 5 minutes from my flat, lol.
We decided to not have a holiday this year..........was a choice of holiday or new 3 piece suite and new carpets, l won !!!
Mind you we do try and go out at least twice a month in the summer for the day and our first trip this summer is going to Marwell zoo with our daughter, son and grandson with a lovely picnic lunch !!! its been 20 years since we've been there.

My daughter & her family camped in our wood last year & fished in the pond.My grandson took an old Boyscout manual of his uncles & made all kinds of hideouts etc.

They had a lovely time & saw lots of wildlife, a fox would come within yards of their tent to drink from the pond each night.

Daughter did cheat though as came here in the mornings .... to go!! No digging holes for her & she is the only one born & brought up in the countryside lol

Few years ago OH and meself bought a static caravan in Aberdeenshire.
This is only 20 minutes from where we live, so easy to get back too incase
of emergencies.
All mod cons on site and the area is beautiful in its own right, its a good
base for going further for a day away.
Remember Rose if you pass this way pop in for a visit.
Whatever you are all doing I hope you have a good holiday. :-D
