Do get a bit down about this if I'm honest.

OH works 12 hour shifts in a smelly factory.......yet STILL we have to go to Stopathome grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Managed a 4 day jaunt to Haven a year or so back where
we all had a blast ..even though we were plagued by bleeding black fly :-|

One day Rodney we'll be millionaires :-D

Think we may go to Stopathome this year.

I found my old best friend from School on Friends reunited some 6 years ago . We live in Kent and she & her hubby live in Wiltshire .Every year since we have spent a week at hers which has been lovely with lots of gossiping as we all get on so well.

My OH isnt so good at the moment , having scans next week and on the 1st April cos he keeps falling over and his memory is bad . He does have some dementia that at the moment is thought to be age related ,he is 78 .
But I think he will have to give up driving and I cant do a 5 hour drive on my own.

Very sad if we cant make it any more . so it may be stopathome for us from now on :-(

stopathome for me too, I did rather optimistically get us both passports ( renewed mine) a year or so ago in the hope that we could have a 'proper' holiday before Dan gets too old to want to go with mum lol.

if I win the lottery at the weekend I'll treat you all lol.

PS don't mean to sound whingey, a roof over our heads is more important and something to be thankful for :-D

Now Anglesey is top of my list to visit.

I want to sit and listen and see if I can hear the druids chanting in the days when it was Mona....

Eeyore13 Report 20 Mar 2012 22:41

You need a lot of time to do Ironbridge-it's massive, however, the cake shop is quite small :-D

that is sooooooo tempting Suzanne but all we have here are lot's of sheep, ramblers & an invasion from Brum every weekend...

Oh dear I feel guilty becaus we manage to have several holidays in the year, and I feel sad for those who are unable to afford a break.

However I have to add that we didn't have many holidays when the children were growing up, well not exotic/expensive ones anyway. We managed a few in chalets or caravans and a couple at Butlins, we never took them abroad, the remainder of our holidays were at the homes of friends in Cornwall. so I do know how you feel. And of course even days out are expensive because of the price of petrol/diesel.

Oh don't feel guilty about yours Ann !! lol. I don't begrudge anyone a break believe me.

Well except for the ones round here that sit on their bums and do nothing but still get to go away .....that annoys me...not folk like you lol .

We were hoping to borrow a caravan from a friend of a friend and go to Wales.....but it's unlikely to happen now.unfortunately..

.we're lucky really as we live 20 minutes from the coast so we can make do. with day trips. I'm not bothered about going abroad really. There's lovely places in the UK we'd love to visit first.

Maybe next year ! x

Real exotic Muffy. !!!!!!!. But at least at the allotment we have deck chairs and camping gear. Can brew up and make a Bacon Sarnie. Both always taste nicer down there.

Bacon sandwiches anywhere taste lovely but there is something about bacon al fresco that gives them an extra edge lol x
