I am sure you are not alone Muffy, judging by the letting diary on the apartment our daughter owns in the L District, and others in the house. Lots of empty weeks so far.

I can imagine Ann :0(

Eeyore...we don't have the worry re kenneling the dogs as parents live round the corner.......but even the most basic holiday is beyond us this year which annoys me a bit tbh ..because I want the family memories....

We'll just have to be content with days at the beach and hope for better days ahead I guess :-|

Unless health takes a dramatic leap - we will join you also - still it is always nice to sleep in your own little bed :-)

I just read somewhere there's an appartment available in the Lake District???

Squatters Holiday eh? :-D

It is ridiculous what some charge & you can be sure if you start saving the washing machine will die...

On the bright side - rise when you like - won't miss breakfast, will sleep well as not in strange bed, no tummy bug from eating strange food/drink, fancy a piece of toast at 2.00 a.m. - no problem - must say there are a lot of advantages - anyone else think of more?

Eeyore13 Report 20 Mar 2012 22:03

That is true...if vertical can be maintained... :-D

It's not so much a holiday though...it's a Crip Exchange Trip ;-)

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 20 Mar 2012 22:03

There are agencies where people swop homes - I often thought about it from a convenience point of view but OH never would.

Muffy I can just recall interesting/exciting experiences to do with holidays and no - however if you wish to send a s.a.e I will reply ;-)

If anyone is in Devon and has children - The Donkey Sanctuary is a good days outing and is FREE, absolutely FREE. including car parking. Take a packed lunch, nice grounds - there is the usual shop - pencils and things.

There are other sites around the country but worthwhile checking if free also.

We happened to be there on our wedding anniversay and so adopted a donkey - so now we do not bother with gifts - just stick with the donkey his name is Coco.

ChrisofWessex Report 20 Mar 2012 22:10

Might be an idea of having a thread with places to go and see which do not cost - with or without children.
