We are not far from GrannyFanny. We are in Oldham. Yes, it started snowing at lunchtime and is quite thick and treacherous now.

OH is a sound technician for local amateur dramatic group and so we HAD to get there. Took us over half an hour to do what is normally less than a 10 minute journey.
Theatre holds just over 120. All cast and others managed to get there but only 7 in the audience even though tickets had been a sell-out. Well, they do say the show must go on, and it did.

A good covering everywhere here near Channel coast.....about 8-10 cms at a guess. Not snowing at present.
It came down light and powdery throughout the night. Even the washing line has a 2-3cms covering along it's length.

Good Morning to All my GR Snowbound Friends.
Well, we are all the same this morning, white all over.
Got the local news on the radio. Highways agency advising not to go out on the roads if not necessary.
Lady across the road managed to get her car off the drive this morning at 7.00am. She is a Care Worker, so must attend her client.
Officials are already inspecting the pitch at Derby County for the grudge match with Nottingham Forest, and it will go ahead. This is a very important match in this area, and some will say life must go on. The pubs in Derby itself, have been open since 7.00 this morning. Urgh, cold ale at this time of morning.
If you don't have to go out, stay in and keep safe and warm

Take Care All

New just in. The match between Derby County and Nottingham Forest is off. This is not because of conditions of the pitch, but because it would be unfair to expect supporters to travel on the roads here, as they are today. It was on television also at 12.15.

Ruddy snow :-P

Its quite thick here in Essex (pardon the pun) :-D :-D :-D

I'm gutted as we were going for a meal for my Aunts birthday. Its been cancelled as its too dodgy driving out there, & my Dad is unsteady on his feet at the best of times :-(

Also missing seeing my cuzzy who I missed seeing a couple of years ago due to plans being scrapped because of snow :-|

Good luck to my hubby as later today he's got to pick his lorry up to drive to Scotland for a job tomorrow :-0

Someone do a sun dance please ;-)

It started snowing in west Midlands around 2pm. EDIT Yesterday 4th Feb.
snow was about four inches deep (according to bro-in-law).
Temps have gone up during night and today and now most of the snow has gone.

sky still looks rather white though, so here's hoping that temps. don'tdrop again.

Mildred, enjoy your celebration meal. Enjoy the chat too.
Good luck to your OH for his drive to Scotland.

Take care of yourself Julia.

It was still snowing when I went to bed at 1 o'clock this morning.

Sun is shining brightly. So if it freezes tonight it will be a skating rink tomorrow.

Council do not grit the side roads.

Took Suzy out for a walk but she was not really that interested as the snow came up to her knees. Tomorrow she will have to do make do with the garden.
