The war was from 1936 till 1939 thes 23 pregnancies in 18/20 years :-(

well Mr Warren brought her back with him from Spanish civl wars and it was 1957 and they had had 2 sets of twins - so 23 pregnancies so must have had a babe about every 10 mths or so too late to work out the mathematics.

I think the script was written by Heidi Thomas of "Cranford" and "Lilies". Wasn't a member here a relative of hers?

I agree Chris I really enjoyed it, I was sadden to learn that Jennifer Worth has now passed away I have read I think 3 of her books, but I thought it was very well made and interesting 25 babies in how any years?

Does anyone know when this series starts on beeb1 for a sunday night.....

based in the 1950s in the east end of London.
