just a quick note today as i feel very sore,
all did not go according to plan the kidney had stuck to my body instead of floating,i have a scar right round my rib cage ,i went to theatre at 8am and came out at 6pm ,i was then in intensive care for 2 day's seriously ill,they had major problem's detaching the main artery in the kidney and i lost a lot of blood.
i only started to feel a little better when i asked them to stop giving me morphine as i work out i kept being sick afterward's.
got to go now as i feel uncomfortable but will log on again tomorrow.

sorry to hear you had a rough time Sue, doesn't sound a nice experience. I hope you will start to feel better soon. I know a lot of people who cannot tolerate morphine, when I had my op I refused it, theyw ere very surprised but could see I meant it and I just had paracetamol and was fine.

i cannot believe this!!!
i am recovering very well but all is not well,
my sil who was diagnosed with 4 types of cancer has now had a stroke,she is completely paralised down her right side ,she has lost her speech,she look's a poor sight,she is only 54, so tragic,
next i was to be grandma for the first time in september,my daughter went for her scan and was told the baby had not formed properley,she had to go into hospital to have the baby taken away, what can you say to her it was her 1st pregnancy,
i thought 2012 would be better but at the moment it seem's not.

Sue, I am so sorry. Your poor Aunt has had a lot thrown at her hasn't she.

I do feel for your daughter and can empathise with her too as our daughter in law had virtually the same problem in 2000, He would have been her second son and it was devastating for all of us. I will say though, if it helps at all, that they went on to have a perfectly healthy daughter in 2002. I hope your daughter will find the strength to cope with her sadness and your son in law and you too.

Maybe a little later the following verse may give her comfort.

what a lovely poem ann,
my daughter say's she is focusing on the fact that they found the problem's at 4month's rather than a lot later when she was near her time of delivery.

it is my s i l who has had the stroke, i do not know how my b i l will cope as he has got a type of motor neurone .

I lost three babies before getting my one and only precious son and there was no aftercare or counselling back then - just get on with it

Sue, you have had an horrendous time haven't you - my Mum always used to say "God doesn't send you more than you can handle" but I don't really go along with that

sue just been reading back hadnt seen this thread before, im so sorry you have had a really tough time, when the time is right i hope your daughter goes on to have a better time, and have her baby and your grandchild, things always seem to happen at once take care of yourself xxxxx

Sorry muddling aunt for SiL I was thinking your daughter's aunt. I don't know who wrote the poem I think I saw it in a magazine and copied it for our daughter in law.

It is possible to be given another drug to counteract the sicknees brought on by morphine. I cant remember its name, but I have to take it if morphine is the only pain relief that does me any good.

Does someone want anit sickness drugs to counteract Morphine.
I have Morphine on a regular basis.
When at home I have it in tablet form, but when in hospital I have as an injection when the Morphine goes in.
It is called Cyclicine

ive had to use it a lot this weekJean, but didnt help with the gall blader pain, so had to pop to our hos today , hope they do something soon pain is horrible from it.x

Sue, I don't know how I missed your updates earlier this month but am glad you are making good progress now.

I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your little grandchild and can empathise with your daughter as I lost a baby too. I hope she will feel strong enough to try again in a while and things will work out better for her altho I hope people don't say to her Oh well you can have another one, I had some strange things said to me when I lost my daughter.

As for your poor s.i.l., well life is cruel isn't it? So much to cope with and now the stroke. I hope she can get back some feeling and her speech especially, to be unable to communicate is really sad and distressing for her and all her loved ones.

Let's hope that's the end of your problems and things start improving pdq.

hello everyone,
i went to see my sil yesterday afternoon,she seem's a little more alert than she was on tuesday,she can nod yes & no but still has no movement in her arm or leg.
not such good new's on the cancer,the chemo &radio theraphy have shrunk the tumor in her chest but unfortunately it has had no effect on her liver,this tumor is growing and they are now trying to decide if they should stop treatment as there is no response in the liver,
she seem's in good spirit's at the moment and we will try tomake her comfortable,my job yesterday was to apply her face cream ,that made her smile,will post any new info as i get it.

Julia, what dosage do you use? It isnt very clear on the prescription I have, but so far havent needed to use it. I was thinking about 5ml? OH wont take it because he would rather be in pain than asleep half the time.
