Perhaps next time he loses it with all pin numbers etc somebody will not be so honest and will lift his money from his bank account. |

28 yrs ago when my son was 6 he found a £20 note in the doorway of a shop. We took it into shop , but they did not want to know. So we took son to nearby Police Station, officer winked at me and said to son "if someone comes in and claims that bank note number we will give him your address" needless to say son was able to keep money. A lesson learned that has kept him in good stead. |

Many years ago son found a £20 all folded up on the floor of one of the village shops. He thought it might belong to an old person and handed in to the owner of the shop and said he would check if it had been claimed. A few days later he asked owner who denied all knowledge of the money. |

Your husband deserves a thank you.I once lost my purse off the shade of my pram.My children were small and i never had any spare money.I was devastated.Phone the police on the off chance it MAY of been handed in?It had been handed in by a elderly man.I picked my purse up from police station and went around to see the gent.He was a lovely man that lived with his daughter.I had flowers sent to his daughter to say thank you as he would not accept anything. It made me believe that everyone is honest? I found a purse a few weeks ago in a cafe and handed that over to the staff.I doubt now after this amount of time he will get a thank you.Sad society we live in. |

Absolutely, but there are some very ungrateful people out there. Yes, a thank you would have been lovely x |

maybe he did ,but if i had lost about 1,000 pounds of phones, credit cards(some with pin num)driving licence with photo, date of birth ext,and cash,in this day and age i would be bowing at the feet of the person who took it into the police station,if that had got into the hands of a criminal(and we have our fair share here in angelsey)it could have been very bad,my husband never wanted any reward, but a thank you would have been nice.x :-0 |

That is so sad, it makes you lose a bit of faith in humanity. I was a bit disappointed not to have a personal thank you from the guy that lost his wallet outside a neighbouring golf course (apparently he placed it on the roof of the car before driving off). That's when I found it fluttering in the breeze. However, he probably had to be catching his flight home. |

Ann - he could always have rung the police station back to get them! Hope he loses them again and for good next time. |

Words fail me. What a miserable ungrateful person. I'd feel like writing to the local paper saying something like 'pleased that the gentleman who lost his bag retrieved it from the police station, be nice to get a thank you' etc. Maybe he lost the contact details. |

I was once driving past our local golf course and saw something fluttering on the edge of the road. I was sure it looked like bank notes. I backed up to find an open wallet containing £720 in notes and a flight home ticket. I took it to the police station. The following week a lady turned up with a bottle of wine and some biscuits saying the the gentleman from abroad had given her £10 and asked her to get something for me. |

Sounds like the sort of bag a taxi driver uses (my husband, son and friends all cabbies) use a bag like this. So glad someone honest found it, we have so often found things left by accident in back of cab, and I remember once having to go to the bakers for a large cake box to return a man's fur hat to Germany, he had left it in the cabin on the way to the airport, we received a lovely letter in return + a reward. |

I,m not sure whether the Police would have contacted the owner. As far as they are concerned it is up to him to get in touch with them. |

I hope the bag is returned to it's rightful owner & he is lucky that your husband found it. Last year I had to drop a prescription in at our doctors on my way to work. It was about 5.45 am as I start work at 6am. It was dark but I noticed something laying in the carpark, went to have a look on my way back & it was a small leather bag, very damp & quite heavy. I picked it up & took it to work & told my boss. We looked through it & it belonged to one of the dr's at our pacttice. Inside was a copy of his passport, money, his checkbook, lots of other bits but also blank prescriptions. We called the police & they came to my work place & picked it up. We think he put it on top of his car as he unlocked & then drove off, so could have been there for hours. Well I never heard a thing, did'nt want a reward but was annoyed that I did,nt even get a thankyou from him. I still would hand things in even knowing I might not get a thankyou. |
