hubby was out walking the dog today and he came across a small leather bag on the ground inside he found,
£240,
seven credit cards,
3 pin numbers with details of cards they were for(i couldnt believe that one)
a blackberry in aleather case,
an iphone,
an ipod,
several store cards,
a fuel card,
and a driving licence for a man in sheffield(this is wales)
took wallet down to the local police station(unmanned, you have to use the phone outside to call the nearest station) he waited nearly an hr for pc plod to arrive, details were given and hubbys name was taken and police said they would be intouch.
i can help wondering about the panic that poor man must have gone through when he realised he had lost his bag, and so far away from home with no money.x

i know what its like,several yrs ago i lost my purse andit wasnt returned.x :-D

Glad there are still honest people about like your hubby.

police said if its not claimed in one month,the phones,ipod and money will be given to my hubby,we could never take someone else"s money or property,i would never sleep at night,hopefully police have enough info from cards and driving licence to find him and return his things.x

How lucky for that person that it was found by an honest person. And how stupid that his pin numbers were with the credit cards.

thats what i thought ann,but to have details of the cards that the pins belonged to was unbelievable. but still feel sorry for him,its horrible when you lose purses and wallets.x :-)

Thank goodness kind and honest people found this bag and acted so promptly.

Many years ago my handbag was snatched from me a few minutes after leaving the bank. This was at a time when most people were still paid weekly and in cash. I had almost 30 people to pay! The people were caught.

I do hope that the person who has lost his wallet is found and that he acknowledges the time and effort made to keep his info safe.

I think that, should the man not claim his money, your husband deserves to have it.

If he can lose that amount of cash without worrying he can afford to reward you.

After all, if your husband lost a similar amount of cash, he would be straight on to the police I am sure.

I am also warmed by this kind act, if the police give it to your husband and the owner is traced by you he (your husband) deserves a pat on the back for double honesty.
I also wonder how it came to be lost in the first place.

stupid to have all the cards and pins together was going to say was probably an older person but with a ipod, iphone and blackberry not so sure.

Good on your hubby for being so honest lets hope the owner acknowledges him.

Well done for handing it in.

A couple of years ago,in the depths of a freezing cold spell,my Hubby found a rucksack nestling behind our shed,and on investigating it found that it contained someones chequebook and numerous credit cards.

It had obviously been stolen and dumped there when the thieves had finished it. We popped it into the car and took it to the nearest police station,when we got inside the toasty warm reception area the bag had thawed out and reeked of every tomcat within a million miles spraying on it.

The young WPC,eyes watering,refused to touch it without rubber gloves,but did manage to trace the grateful owner,who explained that it had been pinched from his car when he nipped into the shop for 5minutes.

We never did find out what he thought of the enhanced aroma that it had gained since being stolen.

Well done, Suzanne's hubby for being honest. So few of you these days. As Annina and others said, this was probably stolen. And dumped.

Years ago, when Oh and I were just married and very poor, we were walking in the snow and we found £40 cash. We picked it up and told our local police station. They said we could have it so we went to the nearest Berni Inn. I often think about that, it was a lot of money in those days and although we enjoyed our steaks we could never have afforded to buy them ourselves.

Well done Suzanne's hubby I hope he gets a thank you.

A couple of years ago my mum who is in her 80s was walking through a big department store and she pick something up off the floor, bit further on she picked something else up when she got to the back of the store she looke and it was 50 pound note and a 10 pound note, she handed them in, and a month and a day later nobody had calimed them so mum got the 60 pounds.

we know the bag had not been stolen because it contained money and phones,which are the things a thief would take first.it was a small bag (like a womans clutch bag) and it was lying on the pavement near the road in the middle of our local village,all i can think of ismaybe the man was carrying grocerys and the bag slipped tothe floor without him noticing.x :-D

maybe it was stolen and the thief did'nt have time to take anything out before he dropped it.
Who ever the owner of the bag is, fancy having all that cash and cards in one bag??

we have a lot of travelling salesmen around here,we are only 2miles away fromthe port of holyhead, it could alsohave been a holiday maker hencethe lots of cash..ijust hope he gets his things back.x :-)
