aw it's lovely to have him back home, his two daughters have been up to see him and we had a nice chat. He has to be off work for four weeks at least, tomorrow he has to go to the warfarin clinic, in fact every day this week so we will have to see what that is about, might be to check his dosage and blood and things. He said thank you for all your kind messages while he has been in hospital, so glad to be home now though. |

Just back off holiday to see this Caz. Hope Philip will be home with you soon and will continue to improve with the Warfarin. And well done for managing to survive without him while he was in hospital. Not easy for you I know. |

Caz I hope you are managing alright while Phill is in hospital. My Dad took warfrin for seven years to prevent more blood clots / further strokes. He had his blood tested regularly and the dose altered accordingly. He had to go to the hospital at first to get the blood test done (by finger prick) then more recently he got it done at home. He kept a record book which went to the hospital with him, or was updated at home later. I believe some foods/ drinks affect the warfrin, and Phill could be advised to avoid certain stuff. Another nurse told us it didn't matter so there is some confusion there!! But he will be kept under supervision by way of the blood tests. Don't worry it is rat poison but not enough to cause harm, thats why people on it are watched carefully xx |

Thank you girls it's lovely to read all your messages, I don't feel so alone. I have had a few sleepless nights, wandering round drinking endless cups of tea, I am muddling through as best I can, my lovely sister did my shopping for me yesterday so I have plenty to eat. They are also going to pick Philip up when we hear he can come home, they told him it may be today now he has started his warfarin. |
