Just back off holiday to see this Caz. Hope Philip will be home with you soon and will continue to improve with the Warfarin. And well done for managing to survive without him while he was in hospital. Not easy for you I know.

aw it's lovely to have him back home, his two daughters have been up to see him and we had a nice chat. He has to be off work for four weeks at least, tomorrow he has to go to the warfarin clinic, in fact every day this week so we will have to see what that is about, might be to check his dosage and blood and things. He said thank you for all your kind messages while he has been in hospital, so glad to be home now though.

Love Caz xx

Oh Caz, I'm really pleased to hear that Phil is home, I know that you must be thrilled to bits.

Well done to you Caz for coping so well on your own, with the help of your sister.

I don't know anything about Warfarin, but I should imagine that they have to check his blood and dosage daily at first, until they are satisfied that all is going ok.

Sending you both lots of love and positive thoughts. Take care.

Love and best wishes. Sallie and Alun.xxx

So glad Philip is home now Caz - hope he feels lots better and is pleased with the way you coped on your own (with a little help from your sister etc)

When my cousin was put on warfarin she had to go every day, twice a day, to have her blood checked so they could be sure the dosage was right and doing it's job.

If you are worried about things that react with warfarin, google that phrase and have a read altho the doctor or nurse should be able to advise him anyway.

I didn't call on Sunday cos I didn't want to disturb you if you were resting or if Philip was just home, so will talk to you during the week sometime.
You were both in my thoughts tho

love and hugs

I rang Caz last evening but Philip said she had gone to bed early as she was so tired after all the worry of him being in hospital. He said he had never felt pain like he had before he went to hospital but is starting to feel stronger again now. He has to see his gp to get a sick note for work and I think he will be happier when his warfarin dosage is sorted out too.
It was nice to be able to talk with him now I know him from my brief visit to them a few weeks ago.

love and hugs to Caz if she comes on here today

Hi Caz, I'm so glad you managed ok while Philip was in hospital.

It's fantastic that he is now home. I go with my mum to the warfarin clinic, sometimes it has been a weekly visit and sometimes monthly, it depends if she has been unwell or if her meds have changed, it changes the reading of warfarin so the weekly visits stay for a few weeks to get sorted then back to monthly.
Mum has her warfarin after having 3 heart attacks in a matter of months a couple of years ago. At 83 she is doing well.
I am sure Philip will be fine on warfarin once the dose is sorted correctly for him, the only thing mum says about it is, she now feels the cold more, and she cannot eat certain foods, she misses cranberries, she adored them but they are a no go for her now.

Take Care and be good :-D

Caz ask at the clinic about any foods to avoid. Write down any questions you have and take the paper with you. You will have chance to ask everything you want to know

Cranbery juice was one Dad was told to avoid by one nurse then she said if he drinks it he has to have it every day, that was while in hospital. Then at the clinic the Dr said it was ok he could have it when he wanted it.

Hello girls, Philip is bach at the warfarin clinic this morning, as he was yesterday, I suppose they will have to get the right dosage for his blood. He is a lot better but this morning said his lung was hurting him where the pnuemonia was in his back. I hope it's not coming back, but someone at the hospital mentioned a secondary infection sometimes.
Thanks for all your messages he appreciaties them, I am off to lie down now while waiting for him, I'm so tired now with everything that's gone on.

Love Caz xx
