Dawnie, I hope you are well today, and the tiddlers.
Just a point I should have added before. In this area, if a Paramedic is called by me, and has to administer intravenus Morphine, he has to call an ambulance to take me to hospital. I am okey if I adminster my own liquid Morphine. I have never had any problems.
All the Best, take care

a couple of years ago after Nan died we could of had her stair lift but steve was apprehensive because the children were young and Laddo would cause problems with it just the way he is with his Autism never know what he will do next.
Will just have to spend a lot of time either upstairs or downtairs and not use stairs lol can pull sofa bed out and sleep down here when thing are bad and got toilet down here so isnt so bad.

Dawnie, is there no way you can get a stair lift through social services or something? It would save you so much effort and risk.

I don't know why everyone replies to Amy's comments, if you just ignore the upsetting or blunt ones then there is no feed back for her.
I have to say recently that she made a comment on one thread that was completely sensible and relevant and I agreed with her, can't recall which thread now.
Sometimes I wonder is she is just the sort of person who has a blunt way of speaking her mind, my cousin is like that and could be offensive except I am used to her ways.

Anyway hope none of us need ambulances this year, and can stay well as possible.

I have known ambulances having to be called for elderly people who fall and their partner/carer can't lift them up so the ambulance has to come so the staff can lift the person properly. Obviously they assess them too in case of injury but often it's just a case of them being too heavy and unable to help themselves so needing professionals to do the lifting.

I agree with you Julie, but she made me cross and I couldn't help myself. I usually ignore. Dawnie is obviously a lovely, brave lady and she doesn't need hassle from the likes of this unimportant person, whoever he/she may be. Probably the same person you mention from last year, but different name.

Well said, Elizabeth - I think you're right!

Lol at Elizabeth. I love your definition of an 'Amy' being put among us so we would all feel better and nicer! Nice one!

Dawnie, we all know you are an honest and classy woman and it is so lovely to hear you being thankful for your lovely family, in spite of the pain you are suffering.

Wish I could wave a wand:-))

i think its strange you have given her a reply when i came on here last year it was some other named person giving abuse out so you always gonna get some one on here giving it out she is entitled to her opinion ... but she not entitled to a reply lol

no matter how hard things get at home andwith my near family I try and make a joke of things and laugh at it all and try and remember there is always someone worse off than me.
may have a disability and no money but I have three wonderful children who yes with their health problems can be very trying but netherless are wonderful and a husband who I adore and is my world and looks after me in more ways than money could buy.

RR asked hubby about the wine and he said what this bottle that was drunk last week asked where my share was and apparently he did keep asking if I wanted some every meal time but I refused none of which I can remember so must of been out of it on painkillers just as well I didnt say yes isnt it.

the para medic asks questions for a reason and if you make them aware of all your circumstances i e live on your own got no money for cab then all of these would be taken into consideration they dont just abandon you for nothing they are highly trained if you feel you not been treated fairly you should ask why you wasnt entitled to an ambulance always ask why a bit of knowledge goes a long way

I still think if everyone stuck to the topic and ignored any personalities the boards would get on better.

I don't post that much because I don't want to get caught up in the 'them' and 'us' groups.

Frank06 - I'm not disagreeing with you - you assessed the situation and made the right call for you. Kidney stones are extremely painful and any movement is agony.

NHS24 is a complete waste of time and I would prefer to call the out of hours dr for advice.

As I have said the NHS direct or 24 are useless....

I rang and said my daughter had swollen up head to toe and they said they would ring me back .........I waited 3 hours for that call ...

In the mean while I had called the GP service and they said take her to hospital ....Yes she was allergic to nuts she had eaten the night before ..she was 10

Wouldn't it be better to leave the personalities out and stick to the topic?

I rang an ambulance last year in all that snow to get my x hubby from his home they said they would come but we may have to wait as they needed to get mountain rescue to us as we couldnt get cars to his house ....coz he lives in the country.

The fact that he couldnt walk wasnt the issue it was what the tumor was doing to his spine I didnt want to move him without help

I still believe myself ....If you can get to them it may save someones life .

I,ve also been told NHS dirct was a waste of goverment money its made so many mistakes ..so I wont call them again
