I think in our town they have a special unti based in the toen centre to deal with drunks who don't need to go to hospital. I have always thought that if you drink yourself into a stupor and need hospital treatment then you should have to pay for it. I bet they don't get too many drunks in American hospitals. |

You will be charged if an ambulance is called and you are transported to hospital following a road accident. I also had a letter from my employers advising me that they would be claiming back sick pay over and above SSP. |

I have a couple of times called the ambulance service for my OH, once with chest pains and twice with diabetes related collapses. They have also come for me with unstable angina which required hospital admittance. OH doesnt need hospital for the collapses as once he is brought round I can deal with him, but I need paramedics to bring him round. |

here in anglesey if its not an emergency or life threatening, you are told to drive to the nearest general hos or get someone to drive you,the nearest hospital 22miles away!it leaves the paramedics time to see to the real emergency cases.it could be a matter of life and death to a heart attack patient,my dad had a heart attack just before xmas and the paramedics where on the door step within 5mins,they saved his life,do i mind driving 22miles to my local hospital with a non emergency condition?of course not.x |
