Ann while we have this lovely weather he is wondering why he cannot go out and sit on the patio, but he can only do that if someone goes and sits out with him on a lead and I am afraid with my vertigo I cannot sit in the sun even under a shade, so he has to stay indoors with only little walks. Still we will get there.

I knew that the post was going up, but not by quite as much as it will be doing next month, will buy a lot and keep them, dread to think what the large stamps are going up by, will have to make sure that I do not make anything that requires one!!!!!! 1st class will be 60p and 2nd class will be 50p. Large first class will be 90p and 2nd class large will be 69p.

For low income households, Royal Mail will keep stamps for letters for Christmas 2012 at the same price as in 2011. Households on pension credit and employment and support allowance (or incapacity benefit) will be eligible. They will be able to buy up to three books of 12 stamps – 36 stamps in total – in one purchase from any of the 11,801 Post Office branches from 6 November until the last posting dates before Christmas!!

Weather here is still very warm which is lovely although they say it won't last for the weekend, typical!!

Poor Bertie, he must wonder what he has done wrong, and sad for you to see his misery. Still persevere and he will benefit from it.

thanks for good wishes Jo, yes a worrying time.

Ann, I hope the check up goes well for her, must have been/be very worrying for you. The rest in the Lakes would have done her the world of good.

Weather here agin so lovely sun is shining and so warm, Bertie is miserable as he just sits looking out the patio doors wanting to be out there but he can only go out on a lead for the next few months this is going to be so hard for us all!

Enjoy what is left of your weekend.

Sorry Sylvia, we are slacking. It has been a lovely day here really warm and we went to Batsford Arboretum to see the daffodil;s and the magnolias.

Jo, Daughter has finished her treatment now, she had a lovely 3 weeks in the Lake District, still gets tired if she does too much and her under arm is still swollen where they took the lymph nodes and that is painful but she stays cheerful. Another couple of weeks she goes for her first check up.

Jo Jo Report 24 Mar 2012 22:21

Ann hope your daughters treatment is going well and that she is getting plenty of rest.

Sylvia like you my internet is being a pain one minute on and the next it is down - think I will be looking for a new provider very soon. So tonight I am having to post from my phone.

Sounds like Johan has had a lovely birthday even if it has spread over a few days!

Weather here has been glorious so sunny and warm but the mornings and late evenings so very foggy.

Bertie is my picture when he was a puppy he is quite large now though. He is improving slowly but we have to keep him very quiet with just 10 min walk 3 times a day. He goes back for xrays in another 4 weeks and we will know then if the bone has started to grow so that we can increase his walks. No off leash time for at least 6 months and he really likes to run around the garden.
It would be lovely to hear from Jilly hopefully she will be in touch near her birthday.

Hi all,
So nobody around yet. Almost a week without a word. Come on winter sleep is over!!
It certainly is fantastic weather, We have had no internet for a couple of days and our telephone has been doing queer things and as it is the same company I fear the worst.
The trouble is wih birthdays is that they last more than a week. If somebody doesn't come on the birthday then they will want to come another day and that has been the case here. I had Johan's sister and brother in law all day. Because they come from a long way off - near the German border - I have to provide food and drinks, so to speak.
It was nice to have them though and when they had gone I tried the internet and to my surprise found it working,so my day is made.
Jo how is your dog? Is it the white one on the pictures in this column?
Jill, have posted your card so hope we hear from you soon.
Keep healthy, Sylvia xxx

Hi all,
Well we had a quiet anniversary, but I cannot have it any other way I think. I have no energy for anything out of the ordinary.
So we will be hearing from Jill soon I think as it is her birthday - as Jo has already mentioned.
I have been thinking what language do they speak on the Isle of Man. I imagine it is English, but probably with a strong accent of Irish or Scottish. Let us know Jill.
Do you think she has invested in a Manx cat?
The other day here I looked out of the window and saw a black animal figure waiting for somebody. Well this figure came along with a small dog. No, the cat was not afraid and jumped up and kissed it and obviously they were friends. Then both kept looking back in anxiety and then along came the third figure. It seemed to be the third animal figure and was exactly the same as the other black cat, with white in front.Must have been his or her twin! The two cats were prancing up and down like cats do when they are happy. Such a lovely sight!
Hope to go and visit an ex neighbour in hospital tomorrow (if it is not raining).
I wish it would get warmer.
Keep warm, Sylvia xxx

Sorry I missed your anniversary Sylvia. Congratulations, I hope you had a lovely day. I agree with Jo, Johann is marvellous for his age, may you have many more happy years together.

I haven't been on much as we were away in the Lake District all last week. Our daughter was on her hird week of recuperation from the radio therapy and we went up to keep her company. Sadly the weather was not good most of the wek, very misty, the worst sort of weather for seeing all the lovely views, still we enjoyed the break and got some retail therapy in.

Also managed a visit to the craft shop at Kendal whichw as useful. :-D :-D

Weather is not very nice here Sylvia, but no rain at this rate we will be on water shortage measures as well as the water is so low at the moment. Getting a bit windy now blow the cobwebs away!!
Bertie is slowing mending, still on very restricted rest which he will be for the next 16 weeks, can only go out for potty breaks and then on a lead in the garden. He can have 3, 5 min walks a day and it is driving him round the bend. He lays and watches the rabbits and squirrels in the garden and cannot wait to get out there to chase them, but will be quite some time before he will be let loose.
Have a lovely weekend all of you

Hi all,
Thank you Jo for the lovely kind words you wrote to us for our wedding annivesary. Yes, we usually get on ok and have an argument now and again but can get out of it ok - years tell and cannot ever say we have ever had a terrible argument, just a difference of opinion.
Johan gets kinder as the years go by and does more for me than ever he did years ago.
What fantastic weather we are having here. We have had sunshine the whole day. Actually it was like this when we were married 56 years ago - in England!
Now must prepare the dinner. Have a nice evening

Sylvia I have now tried to post 3 times and keep losing it!! I have not bbe around as I have a chest infection at the moment. On the mend now thank goodness. Bertie is mending slowly from the surgery to his leg. All the metal in there should be holding it together. Just need now to keep him quiet for a further 12 weeks which is easier said than done.

Congratulations on your 56 year anniversary you still seem as much in love with each other and I think for nearly 87 Johan is soooo active. Fantastic.

Love Joxx

Well I thought somebody else would have written something, but no, so won't spend long here as I have a lot of letters to write. I went out shopping today and it was so cold that I was glad to get home again. Tomorrow I will stay at home as my help will come again. Johan is going out s we'll have the place to ourselves.
I must make some hospital appointments in a moment. We can make these on line now.
Have a nice evening. Love, Sylvia xxx :-)

Just popped in for a few minutes. I haven't seen my physiotherapist and heard she was sick. I do wish she would phone then I knew it first hand, so to speak.
My help in the house is now back, and both she and myself are happy. We like to have a bit of a chinwag now and again. She also knows where everything is in my house which saves a lot of time.
Johan and I are 56 yerars married on the 17th and Johan will be 87 years of age on 22nd March. What a lot of years have gone past.
The weather is super at the moment and will be so for a few more days.
See you later.

Hello Heather, nice to see you. We do have a jewellery maker on the craft blog, have you seen her photos, very attractive pieces.

Sylvia, I do that with tulips as well, it makes them last longer. you had a bargain with your flowers. Our Tesco has been selling two bunches of daffodil buds for £1, they come out beautifully and last about a week. last week theyw ere reduced to 85p, they didn't quite last the week but we enjoyed them while they lasted.

Hallo all,
Life is full of surprises - well it is for me. I received a Xmas card posted by my cousin on 3rd December. On the envelope it said that it had been to Thailand!! Well, well, what next? It was posted north London.
Yes Heather you're right, you must do the things you like and not the things you don't like, then the best will come out of you. I don't like making cards with tea bags, so don't even try any more.
There seem to be a lot of people making jewellery at the moment and I saw lovely necklaces on the market for only 1 Euro a piece. Not worth the effort in making them.
I was at the Saturday market and bought two bunches of beautiful tulips - dual colour of red and yellow. They were only 6 Euro for the two bunches and as I was going away he gave me 3 bunches of daffodils as a gift. Yes, I'll go there again!!
I always have pleasure with my tulips now I cut a piece off the end and then a long piece and I prick just under the flower.
Bye for now, love Sylvia xxx

Evening girls, just popping on to say hello to you all :-D

The weather has been dreadful today, got damp a few times, yuk.
Lets hope it changes and Spring is on the way Jo...... anyway hope you're all keeping well and crafting. I'm into beading now, after making a few pressies for xmas, which I quite enjoyed, I'm slightly addicted lol still cardmaking too, that will never leave me now, but crafting is crafting and we have to have our little pleasures :-)
